Making Sure Your Voice is Heard! 🦷

Hey, Idaho Dentists! Have you ever felt like federal healthcare regulations are designed for large hospital systems with no thought given to small, private practices? The ADA is making sure that changes.

Once again, the ADA is advocating for your seat at the healthcare table, this time by shaping the upcoming National Action Plan on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (2026-2031).

Here is how the ADA is going to bat for your practice on a national level:

🔹 Fighting for Practicality: The ADA reminded federal task forces that most dental care is delivered in community-based or solo practices (just like yours!), not giant hospitals. They are heavily advocating for educational and clinical resources that are actually feasible for your day-to-day operations.
🔹 Protecting Your Clinical Judgment: While we all strive to be responsible antibiotic stewards, the ADA explicitly told federal agencies to avoid "blunt measures" in their policies that could restrict your ability to appropriately prescribe antibiotics to high-risk patients. Your clinical expertise must always come first!
🔹 Highlighting Our Impact: Because general dentists prescribe over 10% of outpatient antibiotics, the ADA is ensuring federal partners prioritize dentistry as a distinct, critical partner in this fight, rather than an afterthought.

Whether you're practicing in Boise, Twin Falls, or Coeur d'Alene, it’s great to see the ADA ensuring that the realities of your practice are respected at the highest levels of national health policy.
