A Message of Love & Support for Nepal
I want to thank the many of you who have reached out regarding the devastating flooding in Nepal and have asked about the safety of our friends and colleagues there, as well as whether this disaster affects Nourish Your Soul Ayurveda Herbal Infusions & Incense, our parent company Langtang Naturals, and our Hope from the Himalayas Documentary Project—which shares the humanitarian stories and projects behind the Ayurvedic teas we import from Nepal.
First and foremost, thank you wholeheartedly for your concern, your prayers, and your desire to help.
Nepal is experiencing an unimaginable tragedy, and our hearts are with the families and communities who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods.
Nuwakot, one of the three districts where we have been focusing our humanitarian and documentary efforts, has been partially affected. My colleague Santosh is in communication with those on the ground and is keeping me informed whenever possible. At this time, Nepal Police and paramilitary personnel involved in the response are in urgent need of rescue and safety equipment to support their efforts in the affected areas.
For those asking about Nourish Your Soul Ayurveda, our tea production has not been physically affected. Our production facility is located in Bhaktapur, closer to Kathmandu.
I am also still planning to travel to Nepal in late October with our Nourish Your Soul Retreats attendees and post retreat film production, although altered. Our retreat itinerary takes us to Kathmandu and another region that, at this time, has not been affected. However, our plans following the retreat to travel into northern villages to continue filming for Hope from the Himalayas have been put on hold as we respectfully allow rescue and recovery efforts to take precedence.
This is a deeply sorrowful time for a country and people who hold such a special place in my heart.
Many of you have asked, “How can we help?”
We are currently awaiting the confirmed donation information for those who would like to make a tax-deductible contribution toward urgently needed rescue and safety equipment, including safety helmets, protective knee and elbow pads, safety gloves, water boots, dust masks, reflective vests, chainsaws, drills, stretchers, search cameras and first-aid kits.
As soon as I receive the confirmed information from Santosh Shah, my colleague there, I will share it here.
