A quick check-in 5 days after an ART session.

They shared that they walked out of the session feeling lighter — and that the memory that used to bother them now feels like a distant bad dream that no longer holds power.

Before trying ART, they had spent 3½ years trying to work through this trauma without much progress.

Therapy experiences are different for everyone, but moments like this are why we’re grateful to bring Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to our community.

We’re excited to bring Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to Bolivar and surrounding communities through Trident counseling.

Sometimes our brains hold onto stressful memories in ways that keep affecting us long after the event itself has passed.

ART is a research supported therapy that helps the brain update how distressing memories are stored. Many people experience, meaningful relief in just a few sessions.

It can help with trauma, anxiety, phobias, intrusive, memories, and negative patterns that feel difficult to change.

Three Trident providers recently completed specialized training to bring this therapy option to our community.

Over the next few months, we’re exploring a few books that connect Black history, resilience, and mental health.

Each offers a different lens — on how stress lives in the body, how access to care is shaped, and how history continues to influence lived experience today.

Black history encourages us to examine the many stories of resilience — stories shaped by courage, community, and strength in the face of systemic inequity.

In mental health, we talk often about context. Where someone lives. What they’ve experienced. Whether they feel safe. Whether they feel understood.

History plays a role in all of that.

Stress, access to care, representation, and experiences all influence well-being. As therapists, part of our ethical care is taking the time to understand that broader picture.

This month is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and expand our understanding of how history continues to shape the present.....including the mental health space.

We’ll be sharing three books in an upcoming post that we’re exploring as part of our continued learning, and if there’s something that has expanded your perspective, we'd welcome you sharing it with us!
