She started at Preferred PT as a student. Today, she’s leading one of our clinics as Clinic Director ❤️
Monica Cannon, PT, DPT first joined Preferred PT during a student rotation at our Wornall clinic in 2019 — and quickly knew this was a team she wanted to grow with.
After earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University, Monica returned as a float PT supporting clinics across the Kansas City region before eventually joining our Lansing clinic full time. Not long after, she stepped into the Clinic Director role — a reflection of both her leadership and the impact she makes on the people around her every day.
As a clinician, Monica specializes in vestibular and orthopedic care and is especially passionate about helping patients dealing with dizziness, balance issues, and vestibular conditions regain confidence in their daily lives.
But what makes Monica’s story so special goes beyond titles and career growth. It’s the way she continues to invest in both her patients and teammates — constantly learning, taking on new challenges, mentoring others, and helping create a clinic environment that’s supportive, fun, and full of laughter (and apparently a few pranks too 😄).
At Preferred PT, we believe some of the best leaders are grown from within, and Monica’s journey is such a great example of what can happen when talented clinicians are supported, encouraged, and given opportunities to grow!
