💉 Why don’t we always do Botox® (or another neuromodulator) and lip filler on the same day?
One of my favorite treatment strategies for the right candidate is treating the muscles around the lips with a neuromodulator first, allowing it time to fully activate (about 2 weeks), and then bringing you back for lip filler.
Why? 🤔
When the muscle activity has relaxed, the tissue is often easier to shape and support with filler. This can help create a taller upper lip, improve lip show, and enhance your results in a way that looks balanced and natural.
Every lip is different, so this approach isn’t for everyone—but it’s a great example of why a customized treatment plan matters more than following a one-size-fits-all trend.

For my newer injectors, this is why anatomy is so so so important, and why we have to reassess every client every single time.

Even if she has had TMJ injections in the past does not necessarily mean that she will always be a candidate for those injections

Overtime that muscle atrophies, and when that happens, and we are still continuing with high doses, it can migrate to adjacent muscles and produce an unwanted outcome

Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot that sweet Hannah can do. She posted that she was in a sauna trying to sweat out the tox. There are limited studies showing that injected saline does help with metabolism and dispersion of the neuromodulator, but this unwanted result could last months depending on dosage!
