AppState Student Planners Association

AppState Student Planners Association The SPA is an App State University student organization that strives to expand the visibility of Community & Regional Planning both locally and nationally.

The App State Student Planners' Association is a student-led organization open to all students and comprised primarily of those who are majoring in Community and Regional Planning or a similar course of study in the Departments of Geography and Planning, Sustainable Development, Appropriate Technologies, etc. Past activities have included highway adoption and volunteering to care for the Boone Gre

enway Trail. Several members attended the 2008 American Planning Association National Conference in Las Vegas, and the 2009 national conference in Minneapolis. Several members also attended the 2010 NC-APA State Conference in New Bern, NC. Since then, the ASU SPA was a dormant campus organization prior to being reorganized and revitalized in the Fall Semester of 2012. The re-founding members attended the 2012 NC-APA State Conference in Wilmington, NC, in September, hope to attend the 2013 APA National Conference in Chicago in April, and are holding near bi-weekly meetings throughout the 2012-13 academic year.
