After 45 years of serving Booneville and Prentiss County, this is truly the end of an era for our family—but also the beginning of a new chapter. ❤️
For 45 years, Davidson Pharmacy has been so much more than a business to us. It has been a second home, a place where generations of families have trusted us with their care, and a place where patients became friends—and friends became our “ph-family.”
There simply aren’t enough words to express how grateful we are to this community. You have supported our family, trusted us during some of the most important and vulnerable moments of your lives, celebrated milestones with us, watched our family grow, and allowed us the incredible privilege of caring for yours. Thank you. We will never take those 45 years of loyalty, friendship, and support for granted.
As we make this transition, we sincerely encourage each of our current patients to embrace the Smith Drug & Home Medical family just as you have embraced ours and give them the opportunity to continue caring for you just as we have all these years.
Effective Friday, August 28, 2026, all current Davidson Pharmacy patient files will transfer to Smith Drug & Home Medical and will be readily accessible there, making the transition as easy as possible. If you choose to continue your care elsewhere, we completely understand and will be available to help make that transition smooth as well. Our greatest priority has always been—and continues to be—making sure you are taken care of.
One of the things that gave us the most peace in making this decision was knowing exactly whose hands our “ph-family” would be placed in. Our family has shared a friendship with David Berry and the Smith Drug family for many years, and that relationship made the decision to sell much easier. We know David and his partners share the same commitment to treating people with kindness, respect, sincere appreciation, and personal care that has always been at the heart of Davidson Pharmacy.
Amanda Brock, the pharmacist who will be taking over the care of Davidson Pharmacy patients, along with her dedicated staff, is excited and ready to welcome each of you to Smith Drug. We hope you will give them the same trust, friendship, and support you have so graciously given our family for all these years. We truly believe you will be in wonderful hands.
And as for the Davidson family… we aren’t going too far. ❤️
After dedicating so many years to the pharmacy and this community, C.L. and Dawn are stepping into a long-awaited season of semi-retirement and rest. For the first time in decades, they are looking forward to slower mornings, quieter days, and the simple joy of having a more open schedule after so many years of faithfully serving others.
They are especially excited about spending more time with their family, enjoying life at a gentler pace, and soaking in the moments that were often missed during the busiest years. Most of all, they are looking forward to being fully present with their eight granddaughters, cheering them on, watching them grow, and fully embracing the joyful season of being “Grandaddy and Nannie.”
And in a way, it feels like everything has come full circle. Those granddaughters grew up as babies behind the very same counters where Max, Lauren, and James Raleigh grew up beginning in 1982. For more than four decades, those counters have held so much more than prescriptions. They’ve held babies & Barbies, homework, after-school snacks, family conversations, laughter, memories, and now two generations of our family growing up alongside this pharmacy and this community.
Davidson Pharmacy wasn’t simply where our family worked. It was part of where our family was raised.
Lauren will still be around throughout the transition to help make everything go as smoothly as possible and to make sure the patients and friends she has come to know and love over the years feel taken care of during this change.
She has also begun an exciting new chapter in her career, stepping into a leadership role with a healthcare system of clinics and pharmacies across Mississippi. This position allows her to continue doing what she has always been passionate about—caring for people, advocating for patients, supporting healthcare teams, and helping improve healthcare in the communities she serves.
Just as importantly, this new chapter gives Lauren something especially precious to her: more time to focus on being “Mom.” So many of you have watched her daughters grow up right there in the pharmacy—often from the stool at the drive-thru or a lemonade stand out on the front lawn. Whether they were waving through the window, helping alongside Mom, Grandaddy, or Nannie…or making hand-drawn notes stuck inside your bag during one of your pharmacy visits, Collins and Merritt have become familiar little faces to so many of you. You haven’t just watched Lauren grow through the years; you’ve watched her girls grow up, too.
Seeing the Davidson Pharmacy name come down after 45 years is certainly bittersweet. There are a lifetime of memories within those walls, and closing this chapter is harder to put into words than we ever imagined.
But this isn’t goodbye.
It’s more like…
“See you later—we’ll just be down the street a little bit.”
To Booneville, Prentiss County, and every single person who has walked through our doors, called our phones, pulled through our drive-thru, trusted us with a prescription, asked our advice, shared your stories, or simply stopped by to say hello over the last 45 years:
Thank you.
Thank you for trusting our family to care for yours.
Thank you for supporting a locally owned family pharmacy.
Thank you for allowing us to celebrate your happiest days and help you through some of your hardest ones.
Thank you for watching our children—and then our grandchildren—grow up.
Thank you for the friendships, the laughter, the tears, the stories, your prayers, and a lifetime of memories.
Most of all, thank you for allowing Davidson Pharmacy to be a small part of your family’s story while you became such a big part of ours.
You were never simply customers or patients.
You became our “ph-family.”
And no matter whose name is on the pharmacy door, you always will be. It’s just simply time for someone else to continue… “serving Booneville… one dose at a time.” 💚🖤
With all our love and gratitude,
The Davidson Family
