Day 2: Fes-bound, Period Palooza and full of purpose! 🇲🇦

After a delicious breakfast, we hit the road toward one of Morocco's most historic cities — but not before a truly special stop. 🛑

Meet the incredible women of the Nzala Women's Cooperative, where tradition, artistry, and resilience come together. These amazing women are preserving centuries-old craftsmanship while building brighter futures for their families. Inspiring doesn't even begin to cover it. 🙌👐

Then it's onward to the magical city of Fes, where we settle into our beautiful riad for the evening. 🌿

But the day isn't over yet! This afternoon we roll up our sleeves for the Fihri Period Palooza 🎉 — coming together to assemble period product kits that we'll be donating in Marrakech.

Because adventure is even sweeter when it comes with purpose. 💜

Every kit we pack is a girl who stays in school. Every hand that helps is a life changed. 💪

This is what meaningful travel looks like. 🌍✨

In honor of Menstrual Hygiene Day, we are thrilled to announce our very first social impact trip!

But first — meet the woman who inspired it all.

✨ Fatima Al-Fihri was a Muslim scholar and visionary who, in 859 AD, founded the University of Al-Qarawiyyin in Fes, Morocco — the oldest continuously operating university in the world. At a time when women's voices were rarely heard, she used her inheritance to build an institution of knowledge that has shaped scholars for over 1,000 years. Her legacy is proof that one woman's courage can change the course of history.

This October, we honor her by journeying to Morocco for the Fatima Al-Fihri Legacy Retreat — an 8-day social impact experience where travel meets purpose.

🔑 Walk the very streets of Fes she once walked
🏔️ Explore the Atlas Mountains & Amazigh villages
💜 Join Period Palooza — packing & delivering menstrual health kits to girls in Morocco
🤝 Connect with women-led organizations & community leaders

A portion of every booking goes directly to the Fihri Foundation to empower women and girls worldwide.

She built a university. We're continuing her legacy — one journey at a time.

Thank you to the World Affairs Council of NH for having Fihri Founder, Ceylan Rowe speak about period poverty.

We love hosting conversations that highlight underreported global issues and bringing them to light. This month's Global in the Granite State episode does just that, as we spoke with Ceylan Rowe of the Fihri Foundation on the critical issue of .

Affecting hundreds of millions every year; the economic, emotional, and intellectual challenges shape the way people engage in their world.

Crafting for a Cause community of New Hampshire has been busy these past couple of months. They recently hosted two period paloozas, packing 200 kits for 3 organizations supporting women and girls in need: Families in Transition and Waypoint in Manchester, as well as Rosie’s Pantry in Nashua. When local communities lean in, the impact is quantifiable!

Period poverty, the inability to afford or access period products, is a global issue. 500,000 women global struggle with access to period products and that number is growing as we speak as result of increased conflict and the displacement it causes. In the US itself, 2 in 5 menstruates struggle to afford period products.

Here are ways to help:
- carry extra products in your bag to offer someone in need or leave behind in a public restrooms that aren’t stocked
- give products to local shelters, pantries, and schools
- support FIHRI by
- donating, every dollar helps someone in need, whether in your backyard or across the world
- running a fundraiser
- hosting a period palooza

Never underestimate the power you hold to restore dignity to those who struggle to manage their periods.
