This healing group invites Relatives to reflect, create, and connect through words and art in a supportive environment.

Bring something meaningful to you:
A poem, prayer, song lyric, personal writing, or book excerpt that reflects your emotions, healing journey, or lived experiences.

Our offices will be closed on Friday, May 22 and Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, May 26.

As we head into the holiday weekend, we hope everyone has a safe and restful time spent in ways that feel meaningful to you and your families.

Words carry power. Sometimes they help us say the things we’ve been holding onto when our own words feel hard to find.

Join NAL and for Words That Hold Us, a creative healing space where Relatives can explore emotions, identity, healing, and lived experiences through art journaling.

Bring a favorite poem, song lyric, prayer, story, personal writing, or a chapter from a book that speaks to you. Together, we’ll transform meaningful words into expressive journal pages using collage, painting, color, symbols, reflective writing, and creative expression.

No art experience needed. Just come as you are!

Today we wear red to honor our Relatives who are missing or have been murdered. This epidemic has taken far too many from our communities. We stand with the families and loved ones who continue to search, grieve, and carry their names. We hold hope that the resources needed to bring your loved one home are made available, and for those who are no longer with us, we carry them with us today and every day.

Today is Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (MMIW/R) Awareness Day. On May 5, Native American LifeLines joins Indigenous communities nationwide in observing this day. This work is deeply personal to us.

We wear red.
We speak their names.
We honor our relatives.

We lost two members of our Baltimore Native community:
• Tiffany Jones (Lumbee), abducted and murdered in 2018
• Yasmine Wilson (Lumbee), murdered in 2019

Both were mothers. Both were taken violently, in front of their young daughters.

We are still here. We will continue to advocate for justice, visibility, and healing. We carry them with us today and every day.

For the past three years, Native American LifeLines has partnered with local Indigenous artists to uplift Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives. Seen across Baltimore and Boston, from billboards to public transit, this work brings visibility to an ongoing crisis.
