Did you know that Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA) can sometimes be mistaken for colic or reflux? 🐮🍼

For some babies, Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA) may be the underlying cause of their discomfort but because the symptoms can overlap with colic or reflux it may be difficult to identify.

The key is looking at the whole picture—feeding patterns, spit-up, stools, skin changes, growth, and overall behavior.

Every baby is unique, and if something feels off, trust your instincts and speak with your pediatrician. 👶🏻

☀️ Finally, the sun is making an appearance!

As we head into the warmer months, it’s important to remember that babies and children have much more delicate and sensitive skin than your own. 🧴👶🏻

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, sunscreen can be used on babies beginning at 6 months of age. For infants younger than 6 months, it’s best to focus on sun protection methods like staying in the shade, wearing lightweight clothing, and using wide-brimmed hats whenever possible. If sun exposure is unavoidable, speak with your pediatrician about the safest options.

Not all sunscreens are created equal! When choosing a sunscreen for your little one, look for a broad-spectrum SPF that protects against both UVA and UVB rays.

☀️ Mineral vs. Chemical Sunscreen ☀️

🧴 Mineral sunscreen (zinc oxide or titanium dioxide) sits on top of the skin and reflects the sun’s rays away. These formulas are often recommended for babies and children because they’re less likely to cause irritation.

🧴 Chemical sunscreen absorbs into the skin and converts UV rays into heat. While effective, some ingredients can be more irritating to sensitive skin.

For babies and young children, mineral sunscreens are typically the preferred choice!

And remember—sunscreen is only one piece of sun safety. Shade, lightweight clothing, sunglasses, and hats all help keep your little one protected while enjoying time outdoors. 💛

Newborns aren’t tiny snackers by choice—their stomachs are just really, really small! 🍒➡️🥚 Those around-the-clock feeds aren’t because you’re doing anything wrong, they’re because babies come with tiny stomachs and BIG appetites.

Understanding newborn stomach sizes can make those frequent feeds feel a whole lot less mysterious. Check out this chart to see just how quickly your little one’s stomach grows in the first few weeks of life. 🍼

Breastfeeding is natural, but that doesn’t mean it always comes naturally! 🤍👶🏽

Pain, clicking at the breast, supply concerns, or confusion about pumping output are some of the most common reasons families seek lactation support—and getting help early can make a world of difference.

You don’t have to struggle through feeding challenges alone. Support isn’t a sign that you’re doing something wrong; it’s a tool to help you meet your feeding goals with confidence. 🤍

Save this post for later and share it with a breastfeeding friend who may need the reminder that support is available. ✨🌱

💛 June Is Infertility Awareness Month

Infertility is more than a diagnosis. About 1 in 6 adults worldwide will experience infertility at some point in their lifetime. Infertility affects both men and women, with male-factor infertility contributing to roughly half of infertility cases.

Some people will never understand the kind of pain infertility causes.

The negative tests.
The failed cycles.
The losses.
The empty dreams.

Some people eventually get their baby, but they never forget the heartbreak it took to get there. Some never get the ending they prayed for, so this month we send them all a little extra love.

Infertility changes people forever. The pain isn’t just in what you’re going through today; it’s in the dreams, timelines, and expectations that keep changing along the way. It’s celebrating your friends while quietly grieving for yourself. It’s feeling joy, sadness, hope, anger, gratitude, jealousy, fear, and love—sometimes all in the same day.

No matter where you are in your story, you deserve compassion, support, and understanding. So this month, we speak about the grief nobody sees, the hope people keep carrying anyway, and the women and couples fighting battles in complete silence. 💐

Infertility is not “just trying”, it’s surviving heartbreak over and over again while the world keeps moving around you.

💛 To anyone walking this road: I see you, and I hope you get your miracle or rainbow soon. ✨🌈

Pregnancy is one of the most incredible things the human body can do. 🤍

You’re not just growing a baby—you’re creating an entire person.

A tiny heart begins beating long before you ever feel those first kicks. Little fingers and toes take shape.
Eyes, lungs, bones, and skin develop day by day, all while your body works behind the scenes.

Without you having to think about it, your body knows exactly what to do.

It grows a brand-new organ—the placenta—to nourish and protect your baby.

It adapts, stretches, and makes space in ways that seem impossible, all to support new life.

Some days it’s exhausting.
Some days it’s uncomfortable.
And some days it feels like the longest journey.

But it is also extraordinary.

While life continues all around you, your body is quietly accomplishing something truly remarkable:

Growing, nurturing, and creating a human being.

And that kind of strength and beauty will never stop amazing me. ✨

🤍 Now booking overnight postpartum care for families with due dates in November and beyond. If you’re looking for compassionate support during those early weeks with your new baby, I’d love to connect!

Baby’s First Foods 🥄✨

Starting solids can feel exciting and overwhelming—but keeping it simple is key.

When is baby ready?
Most babies are ready around 6 months when they can:
✔️ Sit with minimal support
✔️ Have good head & neck control
✔️ Bring objects to their mouth
✔️ Show interest in food
✔️ Lose the tongue-thrust reflex

Some great first foods to try:
🥑 Avocado
🍌 Banana
🍠 Sweet potato
🥕 Carrots
🍎 Cooked apples or pears
🥣 Iron-fortified oatmeal
🍗 Puréed meats or lentils

Whether you choose purées, baby-led weaning, or a mix of both—do what feels right for you and your baby. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach 💛

✨ Tip: Iron-rich foods are especially important at this stage, and breastmilk or formula remains baby’s main source of nutrition until age 1.

Go slow, follow baby’s cues, and remember—food before one is about exploration, not perfection 👶🏽🥄💛

Silent reflux can be so hard on both babies and parents. Unlike typical reflux, many babies with silent reflux don’t spit up much at all — instead, they may arch their back, cry during feeds, swallow frequently, wake often, or seem uncomfortable when lying flat. 👶🏻🍼

It can feel exhausting trying to soothe a baby who seems uncomfortable so often, especially when you can’t always see what’s causing it.

If you’re in this stage right now:
You are not doing anything wrong. Your baby is not “difficult.”And you are not alone.

With time, support, and the right adjustments, many babies improve significantly as their digestive systems mature. One day this phase will feel like a distant memory — even if the days feel very long right now.

This stage can be tough, but you will get through it 🤍
