Listening is not passive. It is clinical work.
Before I see a patient, I set aside whatever is happening in my own life: fully present, fully receptive.
Understanding what they are saying. Mirroring it internally. Feeling the shape of their experience, not just recording the words.
That listening is what allows me to build a plan specific to them: not a protocol pulled off a shelf.
And when they return, the process starts again. Listen. Integrate. Adjust.
The body is always telling the truth. Our job is to actually hear it.
