🦴80% of my private clients have osteoporosis. Many are scared at first, but you are not your diagnosis and you CAN do things to help! (Have you been told you have low bone density? osteopenia or osteoporosis?)
✅My client checked every box. This is why she’s jumping. 🦴
⚠️To be clear, our lateral jumping didn’t happen overnight. We trained together for it.
Here’s the science behind why it matters:
Research shows jump training can increase 🦴bone mineral density specifically at the femoral neck (the exact part of the hip most vulnerable to osteoporotic fractures). And it works in older adults, not just younger ones.
Lateral jumps add a dimension of loading that vertical movement alone can’t provide. Your body adapts to 🚶🏻walking and running, those patterns stop surprising your bones. Side-to-side movement loads the hip from an unfamiliar angle, triggering a fresh adaptive response (but it might not be for everyone):
Warning ⚠️:
It only works with the right foundation.
✅ Progressive resistance training first
✅ No compression fractures or contraindications
✅ Proper landing mechanics
