After decades in Boston’s booming Seaport District, Global Protection has moved its operations to the former West Lynn Creamery building, an iconic building with a rich history.
A bit of background: West Lynn Creamery started in 1928 as a one-truck operation, delivering 300 quarts of milk per day. For nearly 40 years, in addition to processing milk at the facility, they operated the Dairy Bar – a popular ice cream stand and lunch counter. In 1974, the Scangas sons, Nick and Chris, and James Pappathanasi’s son, Arthur, took over the business. In 1987, West Lynn Creamery went through a major expansion, increasing in size from 10,000 square feet to 750,000 square feet. Steve Gorynski was the general contractor during this project, and his son Steve spent summers working in the creamery.
It was so rewarding to invite this pair to our brand new office and hear them reminisce on the wonderful memories that they made here and we are so excited to honor that history and make our own memories along the way 🩷
