They're a great way to see your progress in numbers

But they can impact people negatively

So it's important to stop and consider whether its helping or hindering your journey ⬇️

If it's negative...there are plenty of other things you can look out for:

✅ Progress photos
✅ Body measurements⁣⁣⁣
✅ How you look in the mirror⁣⁣⁣
✅ Your clothes
✅ Your energy levels

A mentor of mine has a saying that I like.

“Don’t do things that suck.”

That’s one of the main reasons I started a business … so I could stop doing things that sucked … and decide what I did and didn’t want to do.

It took me a long time to get there … and to be honest, it’s still a daily struggle.

Don’t get me wrong … mopping the gym floor and taking out the trash and recycling aren’t my favorite activities. And when I have some help, those are two tasks that I prefer to delegate.

But when I do those things, I do them to the best of my ability and with a positive attitude … not with a chip on my shoulder.

Because if I carry a grudge about having to do those things, the negative energy will spill into the next thing that I really love to do … coaching clients, creating valuable content, marketing a new program that has the potential to change lives.

In order to get good at this, we need to have priorities.

If you have kids and watching them play sports is a priority, it becomes crystal clear what steps need to be taken in order to make that happen on a regular basis. Delegate tasks that are in the way, for example, or creating a more flexible schedule.

If losing 10 pounds and having a flatter stomach is a priority, then there need to be supportive actions taking place that will make that happen … as opposed to just wishing that it will happen.

Setting priorities is a game changer … and having a powerful “why” can create the motivation and momentum that you need.

Stop overcomplicating it 🥲

✅ Find a nutritious diet that is healthy but also balanced with foods you enjoy
✅ PT led coaching 3 times a week + daily steps or low-intensity exercise

❌ No cutting out food groups
❌ No 2 hour runs every day

Of course, it is far easier said than done...but we can't stress enough that the best way to do this is to start simple

Have you ever noticed that when someone walks in with a smile and positive attitude, it uplifts everyone in the room?

On the flip side, when someone walks in with a bad attitude or negative energy, that also spreads like wildfire?

Energy breeds energy.

I like to think of it this way: With every interaction I have with someone, I have a choice. I can either lift them up or bring them down.

I want to be that person who adds, not subtracts.

I’m always looking to make deposits, not withdrawals.

First, it’s the right thing to do and the right way to be. But also, spreading positive energy also creates more positive energy and momentum.

The kinder we are to each other, the more positive energy we can create.

And the more positive energy we create, the more successful we all become.

If that sounds corny, it’s not.

Think of a perpetually negative person in your life, and take note of your body language, heart rate, and mood the next time you’re in their presence.

What do you think would happen if you spent less time with that person … and more time with someone who lifts you up?

Success. Happiness. Positivity. Productivity. Momentum.

There is no momentum without action. And positive energy – and people – are a prerequisite for both.

Stuck in your comfort zone? Here are 5 benefits of stepping out of it ⬇️

1️⃣ Your 'real life' is waiting for you! This is the total of all of your experiences, not just ones you're comfortable with.

2️⃣ You can only find out what you're made of if you challenge yourself and step out of that comfort zone.

3️⃣ Risks are growth experiences. Failure is ok....after all you learn from every experience.

4️⃣ If you don't step outside of your comfort zone you risk settling for mediocre. Every time you try something new you are learning.

5️⃣ It helps you to make change. A fulfilling life often comes from change.

Tracking your food is hard.

It forces you to recognize the unhealthy habits that you are so used to having.

This does NOT have to be forever.

30 days of meal tracking is enough for you to recognize where you're going wrong and make a change.

I recently asked a nutrition coaching client if he had any wins to share.

“Not really,” he said.

I knew I had to dig deeper.

“Well, we just passed the halfway point of the program … so it’s time to record your weight, waist and hip measurements,” I said. “No shame if you haven’t … but have you done that yet?”

“Yeah,” he said. “I’ve lost 8 pounds so far, and a half-inch off my waist.”

Whoa! What?!?!?

What an incredible accomplishment … 8 pounds and a half-inch around the waist … GONE … in only 5 weeks!

But … do you see how his first instinct was to say that he didn’t really have any wins to share?

How he thought that 8 pounds and a half-inch lost from his waist wasn’t worth mentioning?

There’s some faulty thinking and limiting beliefs going on here, for sure.

I am going to say this as loudly as I possibly can: “WE NEED TO LEARN HOW TO CELEBRATE OUR WINS!”

No matter how small … because there are no little victories.

They’re all big.

They all add up.

An extra workout.

A more supportive meal.

A pound lost.

A personal record gained.

Entering a supportive relationship … or, exiting a toxic one.

Whatever it is, in order to let it sink in and keep the momentum going, you need to celebrate it.

Write it down in a notebook, journal, or diary where you track your successes.

Tell friends, family members, or (ahem) your coach about it. :-)

You can do this on Facebook, but you don’t have to. Remember the days of picking up the phone and talking to someone?

Whatever feels right to you, that’s how you should celebrate.

Your mind will eat it up, and it will crave – and create – more success.
