🏈 Super Bowl LX featured more than just football but also an important message about men's health to millions of viewers. In Novartis’ “Relax Your Tight End” ad, some of the NFL’s elite (including Rob Gronkowski, George Kittle & Tony Gonzalez) teamed up with Super Bowl-winning coach Bruce Arians to remind us that:

1. Prostate cancer is common — about 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed in their lifetime.
2. Early detection makes prostate cancer highly treatable.
3. Screening doesn’t have to be scary! The first step is just a blood test (PSA test) which means no uncomfortable exams required!

"Am I too old for treatment?"

This thoughtful read is a good reminder that age alone shouldn't decide prostate cancer care.

Many men in their 70s and beyond are living active, healthy lives and deserve a full discussion of options based on overall health and personal goals, not their numerical age.

Let's face it. There is no one-size-fits-all. Your plan should be built around you and your goals, not a number.

"How would the average person know to ask about prostate cancer treatment options?"

This is a great question that highlights something we see a lot when it comes to localized prostate cancer. Many men hear about "surgery" and "radiation" and aren't told about minimally invasive focal therapy options. Simply put, men can't choose what they're never told exists.

If you or someone you love is navigating treatment options for prostate cancer, it's okay to ask your urologist:
➡️ "What are all my treatment options?"
➡️ "Am I a candidate for focal therapy?"

Because shared decision-making works best when patients are told the full spectrum of evidence-based treatment options.

For many men, prostate cancer is not just a question of survival. It is a question of how they will live afterward.
