The Burnett Center provides classes to support social, recreational & skill building opportunities for adults (18+) with autism or other developmental disabilities. Our program and classes take into account diverse strengths and are organized into different levels (Level I, II and III) to better place adults among peers with similar interests and skills. Classes are suited for people who:
• Have autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities
• Are age 18 or older (students in a high school transition program are welcome)
• Want to take part in a supportive community of peers
• Want to build skills that promote independence, or engage in activities for socialization

Seattle Children’s Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center opened in January of 2014 to help meet the ever-growing needs of adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities as they transition out of the education system. The Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center offers year-round classes, activities and events providing social, recreational, independent living skill-building and vocational training opportunities for adults age 18 or older.

💙 Community, belonging, and lifelong connections.

ABC Director Kimika Green recently had the privilege of attending L'Arche Noah Sealth of Seattle's Open Community Night, where she experienced firsthand the warmth, joy, and sense of belonging that define the L'Arche community.

It was wonderful to connect with Executive Director Tammy Liddell, Assistant Director Erin Beary Andersen, and Activity Center Coordinator Jessica Liu, and to learn more about the incredible work L'Arche is doing to create inclusive communities where people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities share life together.

For families exploring lifetime housing opportunities for a loved one with an intellectual or developmental disability, L'Arche currently has openings and may be a valuable resource to consider. Please reach out by visiting: www.larcheseattle.org.

Thank you to the entire L'Arche team for your hospitality and for creating spaces where everyone is valued, accepted, and truly belongs. We look forward to continuing to build connections and strengthen our shared commitment to inclusion. 💙

🎉 We’re proud to join the City of Bothell Government in celebrating Bernadette Bascom Day on October 11!

Bernadette’s impact on our community has been profound, including sharing her gifts with participants at the Alyssa Burnett Center through classes that inspire self-expression, confidence, and connection. This recognition is incredibly well deserved.

Join us in celebrating Bernadette on October 11 and supporting her foundation, SPEAK! Music As Language. Proceeds from the event will help advance her mission of empowering individuals through the transformative power of music.

October is just around the corner and that means it's almost Bernadette Bascom Day in Bothell!

Earlier this month, we were joined by none other than Bernadette Bascom, herself - singer and music icon, teacher and vocal coach, Emmy Award winner, founder of The Music Project Foundation (now known as SPEAK! Music As Language), and 💛beloved💛 Bothell community member - as the Bothell City Council celebrated her inspiring career and the incredible impact she's had on our community and region, and presented her with a proclamation recognizing October 11 as Bernadette Bascom Day 🎶

Thank you to Bernadette and all who joined her at the City Council meeting to accept this proclamation, and thank you for sharing your inspirational story with us!

Everyone is invited to share in the fun at Seattle Children's Autism Center on October 24th! Make sure to save the date!

Monday mornings are for the birds, that is for the Seattle Children's Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center Nature & Birding class. Today we were out at Blyth Park spotting lots of local birds. We even identified a rare bird to Bothell called a Hutton’s Vireo!
