If you're in your 20s, 30s, or early 40s with strong nearsightedness - and you've been told LASIK isn't right for your eyes - ICL may be exactly what you've been looking for.

ICL, or Implantable Collamer Lens, is a same-day outpatient procedure designed for patients with higher prescriptions or thinner corneas who want clear vision without glasses or contacts. Here's what the procedure actually looks like:

- About 15–20 minutes per eye
- You're awake but your eye is numbed - you won't feel the procedure
- No part of the eye is cut away or reshaped
- Your natural lens stays exactly where it is
- You go home the same day
- Most patients notice clearer vision within days
