Sink or swim? The so-called "float test," when applied to botanicals in general, is a myth. Corn seed verified at 80% germination floats 60% of the seeds. . . We always float our passionflower. Good seeds sink, bad seeds float, and its a great way to clean them. Elderberry is just the opposite. Good seeds float while sinkers give low germ. As with most things herbal, it is a species-specific response.
