Quick update on my OpenAPS (www.openaps.org)
I'm about a week into using the algorithm to control my basal rates. This image is the last 12 hours. The blue line is the system constantly setting temp basals to keep me in range. It is doing pretty well. Most of this was while I was sleeping- no user intervention needed!

Insulin gets more expensive...again.
PLEASE call, email and write your elected officials and let them know this is NOT ok- that insulin in not a choice and there are no alternatives.

Update on my smarter insulin pump via openAPS... The first Edison Board I got was failing because there was a hardware problem- so I decided to get the more expensive one that comes with the operating system pre-installed. It arrived working fine but with the wrong OS! Just finished flashing the board and all seems to be working fine. It is currently going through the setup process, installing, etc.
Now I have to wait for my pump supplies to arrive (I've been on an OmniPod for a while and no longer have supplies for my MiniMed 522). More soon...

Dexcom and Mac users- just found this free little app that displays BG and trend in your menu bar. Its called GlucoGram. After using it for 10 minutes, I'm in love.

I just got off the phone with my insurance co, Harvard Pilgram. It seem, without telling anyone, they are no longer covering OmniPods.
Has anyone had any luck fighting with them? They seem pretty steadfast on it.
I will have new insurance next month but don't have enough to get there. I REALLY don't want to go on shots.
