I'm pleased to share that I'll be speaking at the Integrative Medicine for Mental Health (IMMH) Conference 2026, taking place 8–11 October in San Diego, and I'd like to invite you to join me.

My session introduces a new framework for understanding how the brain and body move between states of protection, adaptation and repair.

We'll explore how chronic stress, trauma and inflammation influence brain health, emotional regulation and cognitive function, and how evidence-based, personalised interventions can help restore resilience by creating the conditions for healing.

Drawing on advances in neuroscience, lifestyle medicine and trauma recovery, this session offers practical insights into promoting brain health, supporting nervous system regulation and helping to prevent cognitive decline.

I'll be joined by Dr Robert Lustig, Dr Jill Carnahan, Dr Eboni Cornish, Dr Emeran Mayer, Dr Dale Bredesen, Dr James Greenblatt, Dr Nasha Winters and more than 50 leading researchers, clinicians and practitioners from across the field.

As part of my community, I'm pleased to offer you an exclusive discount if you register for the conference.

Within the last two months, I have been in South Africa and Canada, where I have been teaching with the wonderful Dr. Arielle Schwartz at a Beyond Trauma retreat and spending meaningful time with family.

In South Africa, I learned so much from watching animals in the wild. Each animal moves in its own way between sympathetic activation, recovery, and rest. There was something powerful about witnessing how naturally the body can respond to challenge, release what it needs to release, and return to a more settled state.

Time with family in Canada offered its own kind of practice: moving between different emotions, relationships, expectations, and nervous system states with greater awareness and compassion.

In both places, I was reminded of the healing potential of sacred community. When nervous systems feel safe enough, we become more available for connection, curiosity, presence, and expansion.

This is part of what we will explore together in our Embodied Vagal Toning Group. Vagal toning is not about forcing yourself to be calm or “fixing” your nervous system. It is about gently building your capacity to notice what is happening within you, support regulation, and find more flexibility as you move through the natural rhythms of activation, recovery, and rest.

I look forward to sharing some self-regulation pearls with you when we meet and creating a space where we can practice together.

Hope to see you there!
