i took this picture yesterday morning during my morning walk before a 10 hour shift. the sun was shining, there were cows on the path near me, and i was surrounded by the most incredible nature. i couldn’t help to but smile & laugh. i was overwhelmed with gratitude. my mama calls these my happy eyes, when i’m smiling so big they can hardly stay open. find something each day that brings you this type of joy.

last breakfast of this year✨ i woke up this morning wanting to dance & stand in the sunshine. i’m not creating any resolutions moving into 2021 & i know that when it turns midnight the damage in our world isn’t going to magically repair, but i’m excited about the thought that in this new year we could work together to do some good — for ourselves, for each other, & for our beautiful earth. let’s say goodbye to the bad & hello to the beautiful tomorrow🤍

lunch today : focaccia sandwich

made focaccia for the first time using artisan bread mix & recipe found on their website (a must try✨ so good!)

toasted both pieces in my cast iron pan with EVOO to get nice & toasty, spread chive & onion cream cheese on the bottom, added spinach & arugula & topped with an egg. so. dang. good.

truly some food for the soul🕊

wanted to share my smoothie pre blend🤍 taking a moment to be extra appreciative of what i’m about to put into my body✨

-mixed berries for antioxidants
-spinach for greens + vitamins
-banana for potassium
-almond butter & h**p seeds for healthy fats + protein
-a date for fiber & natural sugar
-cinnamon for anti-inflammation
-oat milk for that dairy free goodness

🕊this week has been all about mental detoxification & finding peace in the mind

today i am focusing on letting go of obsessions. as someone with anxiety disorders, this can be extra challenging as my mind tends to overanalyze & hold onto toxic thoughts. staying present, acknowledging my anxiety driven thoughts, and letting go of them is my tactic rather than suppressing & dismissing them.

being mindful & present has been the most healing form of self care for me, but it’s easy to let that slip away when i am not focusing on it. hopeful that this week provides that glimpse of healing once again🤍

december D E T O X 🕊

anyone else absolutely baffled we’ve reached the last month of the year? it’s been a year filled with change & unknowns. although it’s weighed heavily with “downs”, there have been many “ups” as well. i’ve discovered the true meaning of silver linings & how impactful they can be. for this last month in the year of chaos, i will be dedicating each week towards a form of detox. whether mental or physical, i think it’s time to truly dive into some self care.

week 1: sugar detox

week 2: 7 day mental detox

week 3: media detox

week 4: plastic detox

week 5: lazy detox (for lack of better words) pretty much staying motivate & keeping active!

who’s excited?! 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ this is very much something i am doing for myself based on areas in my life i want to improve🕊 happy december!

HOMEMADE PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE PT II (see original pumpkin maple latte recipe in feed, decided to add some razzle dazzle to this one🌟)

from first pour to mixed, beauty in every step of creating ☕️

✨oat milk
✨small scoop of pumpkin purée
✨drizzle of maple syrup
✨dash of brown sugar
✨pumpkin spice
✨double shot of espresso

in a small pan, heat up & mix together pumpkin, spice + sweeteners. when warm & smooth, pour in cup & add in espresso🕊
