Breastfeeding twins can feel like a LOT at first, but you don’t have to figure it all out alone. 🤍

Remember: there is no one “right” way to breastfeed twins. Your feeding plan should support your babies AND you. You don’t have to breastfeed both babies simultaneously, exclusively, or in the same way every time. The goal is fed babies + a sustainable plan for you.

Twin moms, you’re doing something incredibly demanding and amazing! Give yourself lots of grace. 💛

If you’re a twin mom, let us know, what are your tips and tricks?

Your baby sleeping with their mouth open once in a while? Not necessarily a concern. But if you notice consistent mouth open sleep, it can be worth looking a little deeper as to why!

A restricted tongue can affect how the tongue rests and functions, which may impact feeding, oral posture, and the way a baby uses their jaw and mouth.

The goal isn’t to diagnose a tongue tie from one symptom. It’s to look at the whole picture and how the tongue is functioning. So that’s what we do!🤍

If you’re seeing several of these signs, an oral function evaluation with us can help!

Have you noticed your baby sleeping with their mouth open? 👇

If your child is snoring, mouth breathing, tossing and turning, or struggling with mornings and focus, it may be worth taking a closer look at their sleep quality.

They may need a tongue tie evaluation or some myofunctional therapy to help! So come see us!

Save this for this back to school season!

Baby holding mama’s pinky while breastfeeding 🥹🥰✨This sweet premie has successfully transitioned to the breast with a lot of hard work and intuitive “tools” from mom! Good job mama!

Here are 3 Ways to Support Your Preemie During Feeds:

1. Prioritize regulation before feeding.
A calm, organized baby is more likely to coordinate sucking, swallowing, and breathing. Keep the environment quiet and give baby time to settle before starting.

2. Use supportive positioning.
Keep baby well supported with their head, neck, and body aligned. A more stable position can make it easier for them to coordinate their feeding skills rather than using energy to stabilize their body.

3. Watch the baby, not the clock.
Look for early feeding cues and signs of stress. If baby is becoming exhausted, breathing differently, turning away, or losing their suck, pause and allow them to recover. Feeding a preemie is about quality, not just finishing a certain amount.

Tummy time is so much more than trying to get your baby to “hold their head up.”

From a bodywork perspective, we’re looking at the whole body. Tummy time gives babies opportunities to experience weight bearing, activate their posterior chain, shift their weight, coordinate both sides of their body, and build the stability they’ll eventually need for rolling, sitting, crawling and beyond.

If your baby strongly dislikes tummy time, that doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong!!! Try shorter periods more frequently and change the position: chest to chest, over your lap, or with you down on the floor face to face.

And if baby consistently seems uncomfortable, strongly favors one side, or has a hard time using their body qualified bodywork/feeding professional (that’s us 👋).

We see you guys all day every day and are constantly in awe how much you care for your family 🫶🏻 Super Chic!

Airway is so important! If your arched are too small/narrow, at any age, it can affect tongue posture, mouth breathing, snoring and sleep quality, and facial development. We love meruorthodontics! Sherri and her kids are in expanders right now.

Did you know we offer these? Support is the number one predictor of breastfeeding success. Every mom + baby combo is unique and getting the right tools in your toolbox can help you be ready. Call us to schedule!

Being moms ourselves, as well as so many of our providers, makes our clinic unique!! We just get it. We’ve been there. We see you!

Mouth breathing is a red flag 🚩 Our goal is to evaluate oral function and airway health, not just the presence of a tongue tie. By evaluating structure, function, and development together, we can guide families toward the most appropriate and effective treatment path.

We LOVE to see your “team” come in! Supporting your partner or family member on their feeding and postpartum journey makes a huge impact!

You know your baby best! If something feels off, if you feel like your baby is gassy, uncomfortable, clicking at the breast, dribbling milk from the sides, fussy during feeds, or having colic symptoms. Come see us!! We help families every day work through their unique challenges.
