October movie time at Avir at Bowie called for Beetlejuice, fresh popcorn, and adorable Halloween Oreos, all chosen by our residents to help set the mood for the season.

It was the perfect combination of a classic spooky favorite, tasty treats, and time spent relaxing together.

💛 Community Giving That Makes a Meaningful Difference

A heartfelt thank you to our local Knights of Columbus for generously donating two brand new wheelchairs to Avir at Bowie.

We are also proud to recognize our own floor tech, George Coyle, who is a member of this wonderful organization.

Founded in 1882, the Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal organization built around the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. Their commitment to serving others, supporting families, and strengthening communities is truly reflected in this thoughtful gift.

These wheelchairs will help provide our residents with greater mobility, comfort, and independence, while allowing them to stay engaged in the activities and everyday moments that bring them joy.

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of the Knights of Columbus and for community partners who continue to support the residents we are honored to serve. 🤝

We invite our community to join us and help make a meaningful difference through blood donation. Sign up ahead of time if you can, and walk ins are always welcome.

🌟 Meet Brooke Hunt, LVN – MDS Nurse at Avir at Bowie! 🌟

In honor of National Case Management Week, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on one of our dedicated team members, Brooke Hunt!

With 14 years of experience in healthcare, 9 years in her current role, and 7 years with Avir at Bowie, Brooke brings valuable knowledge, compassion, and dedication to our residents and team.

As an MDS Nurse, Brooke plays an important role in coordinating resident assessments, developing individualized care plans, and working alongside our interdisciplinary team to help ensure each resident receives care tailored to their unique needs.

❤️ What does Brooke enjoy most about her job?
“Piecing together and creating individualized plans of care for our residents.”

One of Brooke’s favorite things about working at Avir at Bowie is the incredible teamwork. She appreciates the wonderful interdisciplinary team and the friendships built through working together toward a common goal.

Outside of work, Brooke is a wife of 16 years and busy mom of four — two girls and twin boys — she also has two dogs! When she finds a little free time, she enjoys reading, camping, and attending Renaissance festivals. 📚🏕️

🍼 Double the Joy, Double the Celebration! 💛

Avir at Bowie recently had the pleasure of celebrating two wonderful couples as they prepare to welcome their little ones.

Kristen and Edward, along with Ruby and Hayden, are all Certified Nurse Aides here at Avir at Bowie, making this celebration even more special for our team.

It was a beautiful time filled with love, excitement, and plenty of well wishes for these growing families.

We are so happy to celebrate our own and cannot wait to meet their sweet bundles of joy. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Clay County Memorial Hospital for inviting Avir at Bowie to the fall festival at the Clay County Senior Center.🍂

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with members of the community, meet fellow healthcare partners, and share more about the care and services we provide.

We had so much fun serving Halloween dirty sodas, visiting with attendees, and being part of such a welcoming event. 💛

A creative afternoon at Avir at Bowie turned plain pumpkins into festive works of art. Our residents had a wonderful time painting their own designs and showing off just how imaginative they can be.

We love activities that bring out creativity, conversation, and a little seasonal fun. Their finished pumpkins turned out amazing! 🧡
