You are not a task.
That’s dignity.
Being heard. Being seen. Being paid attention to – not rushed through.
But let’s be honest.
Most of us caregivers didn’t wake up wanting to speak over our loved one.
We wake up with a list.
Feed by 8. Meds by 9. Shower. Laundry. Exercise if there’s time.
Somewhere in the rush, we forget to explain what we’re doing.
We stop offering choices.
We finish their sentences.
And suddenly, care feels cold – even when our hearts are full.
Here’s the good news:
You can flip it today.
Try this:
👉 Tell them what you’re about to do.
👉 Offer one small choice. “This shirt or that one?”
👉 Keep your voice calm – even if you’re running late.
That’s not extra work. That’s respect.
And it actually makes your day easier, not harder.
