Please join us in welcoming April Showman to the Samana community!
April’s yoga journey began while she was a student at Kutztown University, where the practice helped her discover a deeper sense of confidence, calm, and connection with herself. She completed her first 200-hour Hatha Yoga teacher training with the Shambhava School of Yoga in Colorado in 2005 and later earned a 300-hour Yoga Therapy certification through the YogaLife Institute.
Her love of yoga as a healing practice naturally expanded into bodywork and Thai massage. After completing numerous trainings, April traveled to Chiang Mai, Thailand, to study at the Old Medicine Hospital—an experience that allowed her to immerse herself in the traditions of Thai massage as both a student and teacher.
For April, yoga reaches far beyond the postures. It is a way of living with greater awareness, grace, positivity, and connection. Through her teaching and bodywork, she encourages others to reconnect with their highest selves and let their own light shine.
We are delighted to welcome April and the beautiful, nurturing energy she brings to Samana.
We are especially excited that April will be sharing her experience in yoga therapy and Thai bodywork through a new three-part offering at Samana:
REST & RECEIVE
A Restorative Yoga + Thai Massage Experience with April Showman
Give yourself permission to pause, soften, and receive.
In this deeply restful experience, supported restorative yoga postures are combined with the nurturing touch of Thai massage. With the use of bolsters, blankets, and blocks, you will settle into postures selected to release common areas of tension, including the back, hips, shoulders, and neck.
As you rest, April will offer individualized Thai Yoga therapy techniques such as gentle stretching, rhythmic rocking, soothing pressure, and assisted movement to complement each posture. This thoughtful combination supports relaxation, circulation, mobility, energetic balance, and a calmer nervous system.
This experience is for anyone longing to slow down, release held tension, and feel gently cared for—no prior yoga experience is needed.
