On November 7, I’ll be at Light The Night in Miramar, Florida, walking with Team BeOne–South Florida and joining fellow survivors, caregivers, families, advocates, and supporters as we light the night for everyone impacted by blood cancer.

Blood Cancer United supports lifesaving research, patient education and support, advocacy, and resources for patients and families navigating blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.

As someone living my own blood cancer journey, this mission is very personal to me. I know firsthand what advances in research and treatment can mean.

Day 13 of Blood Cancer Awareness Month ❤️

More awareness. Brighter tomorrows.

When I was diagnosed with blood cancer, I quickly learned how much hope matters. But hope isn’t just something we feel — it’s something we can help create.

Every new treatment, every clinical trial, every patient connection, every caregiver who stands beside us, and every dollar invested in research gives our blood cancer community another reason to believe in brighter tomorrows.

I’ve been fortunate to experience firsthand what advances in research and clinical trials can mean. Today, I’m cancer free, and that makes me even more determined to keep advocating for all of us.

We raise awareness because awareness leads to action.

We support one another because none of us should walk this road alone.

We advocate for research because tomorrow’s breakthrough may become someone’s second chance.

And we share our stories because our voices matter.

Together, we can turn hope today into brighter tomorrows. ❤️

🩸 Blood Cancer Awareness Month 🩸

This November, I’ll be participating in my first South Florida Light The Night walk, and I’m grateful to be doing it alongside so many people who understand what this journey means.

A huge thank you to my friends and family who have already helped me raise **$250** for Blood Cancer United! Your generosity means more to me than you know. Every donation helps support blood cancer research, patient services, and the hope that one day we’ll see a world without blood cancer.

As someone living with the experience of Stage IV Mantle Cell Lymphoma, this cause is deeply personal. I know firsthand how important research, access to treatment, and support can be for patients and their families.

🩸 DAY 6 OF 30 — THE “I” BECAME “US”

When I was diagnosed with blood cancer, everything started with I.

I have cancer.
I’m scared.
I need treatment.
I don’t know what happens next.

But somewhere along this journey, “I” became “US.”

Patients. Survivors. Caregivers. Doctors. Nurses. Researchers. Advocates. We may have different stories, but we share a community that nobody ever asked to join.

Cancer may have introduced us, but community keeps us going.

Today, my journey isn’t just about me anymore. It’s about using our experiences and our voices to help the person coming behind us.

Different journeys. One community. Stronger together. We got this. ❤️

🩸 DAY 2 OF 30 — “BUT YOU DON’T LOOK SICK.”

People meant well. But when I looked in the mirror, I saw something completely different.

I saw the face of cancer.

Today, I don’t see that face anymore. I see Brian — some middle-aged guy who dresses like a Christmas tree most days. 😝🎄 And I’ll take that guy every single day.

Because cancer taught me something important: you can never truly know what someone is battling just by looking at them.

Five years ago, I never imagined blood cancer would become part of my story. Today, I’m grateful to still be here, using that story to educate, advocate, and hopefully help others feel a little less alone.

For the next 30 days, I’ll be sharing something every day about blood cancer, advocacy, research, clinical trials, patient support—and this crazy journey called life.

Awareness is where we start. Action is where we make a difference.

As we begin Blood Cancer Awareness Month, I want to share an event that means so much to me—Blood Cancer United’s Light The Night. ❤️

For the last several years, I’ve participated and volunteered in New Jersey. This November will be my first Light The Night in South Florida.

Light The Night brings together patients, survivors, caregivers, families and friends affected by blood cancer. Different diagnoses. Different journeys. One community.

My advocacy journey really began with Blood Cancer United, formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities they’ve given me and the research, advocacy, financial and emotional support they provide my blood cancer brothers and sisters.

Not long after moving to South Florida, I was asked to become an Emerging Leader for this year’s event. Of course I said yes! After the challenges of the last five years, I’ve learned there isn’t much I won’t attempt—especially if it helps someone else.

And my campaign already has a great story. In Ireland in May, wearing one of my sequin jackets—being my usual shy self 😂—two ladies asked about it. I shared my journey, they introduced me to their spouses, and one handed me $100 for my next fundraiser. A complete stranger, thousands of miles from home. ❤️ Thank you Eleanor for becoming my first 2026 Light The Night donor. The light started shining in Ireland. 🇮🇪✨

🩸 DAY 1 OF 30 — BLOOD CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month.

Five years ago, blood cancer became part of my life when I was diagnosed with Stage IV Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Since then, I’ve learned cancer is about much more than treatment. It’s scans and anxiety, insurance battles, financial challenges, caregivers, clinical trials—and the researchers and advocates fighting for better tomorrows.

Most importantly, I learned that our voices matter.

For the next 30 days, I’ll use mine to share education, research, advocacy, patient support and pieces of my own journey.

If these posts educate one person, help one patient feel less alone or inspire someone to take action, they’ve done their job.

Awareness is where we start. Action is where we make a difference. ❤️

Happy National Reset & Repeat Day! 🌊☀️

Okay, I made that holiday up. 😂 But I think we all need one every once in a while.

Today is about getting back into my routine:

Gym. Beach. Work. Repeat.

More importantly, it’s about continuing to heal physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Sometimes starting over doesn’t mean going all the way back to the beginning. Sometimes it simply means waking up and saying, “Today, I’m going to try again.”

That’s exactly what I’m doing.

One day at a time. Keep showing up. Keep moving forward. And just keep going. ❤️

Sometimes a routine checkup isn’t so routine after all.

In 2021, I walked into a physical feeling perfectly fine. That routine appointment and blood work eventually led to a Stage IV Mantle Cell Lymphoma diagnosis.

Today, I’m grateful to be standing on the beach in remission — but I haven’t forgotten the lesson that checkup taught me.

On Annual Medical Checkup Day, my message is simple: Don’t skip your physicals, blood work or recommended screenings. Listen to your body, follow up when something doesn’t look right, and be your own advocate.

Early action can change everything. 💚
