🥙Cuisine Around the World Culinary Training🥙

Alex Nguyen, Food Service Director at Box Elder Schol taught fellow school nutrition professionals how to make beef birria meat for tacos, quesadillas, etc 🌮🌮

In this special class, he honored his heritage, Mexican and Vietnamese, through student approved recipes inciting fresh spring rolls, mediterranean cucumber salad 🥗, bison taquitos, bison chokecherry sloppy joes 🍔, and beef/lentils/green pea curry 🫛

That's a wrap on the 2026 Montana School Nutrition Association Conference! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an incredible few days of learning, connecting, and celebrating Montana school nutrition. From 48 engaging breakout sessions, two inspiring keynote speakers, a Beef 2 School Panel, F2S Tours, and Culinary Trainings to our Montana food vendor show, take-home herbs and spices, and countless opportunities to network and share ideas, this year's conference was one to remember!

A huge thank you to our speakers, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, planning committee, and everyone who helped bring this event to life. And to the 300+ attendees—thank you for showing up, participating, and continuing to invest in healthier, stronger school meal programs across Montana. 💚

For the first time ever, kids in the Cut Bank community have a Summer Food Program where breakfast and lunch packages can be picked up Mon-Thurs and FREE 3-day weekend meal kits on Thurs at the Glacier County Library-Cut Bank! 📚🥪🍎

The program is already making a big impact, with organizers seeing a huge increase in kids stopping by since it launched. 🎉

Programs like this help ensure children have access to nutritious meals all summer long while creating a welcoming community space for families.

Way to go, Cut Bank School District and staff! Here's to a summer filled with full bellies, happy kids, and stronger communities 🌞💚

Wolf Creek school students enjoyed a culinary class making homemade bison tamale pie and blueberry cornbread! Something (the lack of leftovers) tells us these recipes are going to be added to their regular menu rotation! 🫐🍅

The kids also participated in Food Education class, learning about the food pyramid by creating their own 'pyramid silly faces' for snacks🌶️🥚🫛
