Meet Dr. Anthony Stark, DO 👋

Dr. Stark is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician who specializes in non-surgical treatment of sports-related injuries, acute pain, and chronic pain disorders.

His approach focuses on helping patients decrease pain, maximize function, and improve their quality of life. Treatment options may include injections, bracing, physical therapy, and regenerative medicine techniques such as PRP and bone marrow concentration injections.

Dr. Stark has been caring for patients in the Gallatin Valley for nearly a decade. Before coming to Montana, he treated musculoskeletal injuries at Iowa Orthopedics and served as a team physician for the Iowa Wild and Drake University Bulldogs.

Outside of the clinic, you can find Dr. Stark spending time with his wife and kids, fishing, golfing, and skiing. ⛰️

Meet Dr. Timothy J. Strigenz, MD 👋

Dr. Strigenz is a fellowship-trained Interventional Pain Physician who focuses on non-surgical approaches to treating acute and chronic pain.

His goal is to create a treatment plan that’s tailored to each patient and their individual needs. Treatment options may include injections, bracing, physical therapy, and neuromodulation.

With extensive training in anesthesiology and pain management, Dr. Strigenz brings years of experience to helping patients better manage their pain and improve their quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, you can find him spending time with his wife and three kids, trail running, skiing, and enjoying everything Montana has to offer. 🏔️

Good Morning, Butte! Happy Monday with MAPs 👋

This week, we'd like to introduce our last, but certainly not least, Butte staff member, Marisa. She has been with us since the doors opened to these hallowed halls! She helps keep our wheels on and has past experience in social services and medical assisting at various medical facilities.

A little more about her:
🏒 I am originally from Helena, MT, and I graduated from University of Montana with a degree in psychology. GO GRIZ!
🐶 Myself, my husband, and our rambunctious border collie, Finley, have lived in Butte for two years now.
🌮 My favorite food is Mexican, but I also love a good treat from Starbucks!
🎶🎶The last concert I went to was Mumford and Sons and Sierra Ferrell. LIFE.CHANGING. I'm hoping to see as many bands as I can at the Folk Fest this year!!!
😅 I'm very afraid of snakes and ticks!
🎧🎧 Current entertainment lineup: Any horror/thriller movies and true crime podcasts (You can catch me listening to Dateline on my way to work every day!)

In my spare time you can find me reading a good book (I love thrillers and rom-coms!), planning a fun vacation (somewhere with water!), and trying out new recipes with my husband!

Good Morning, Butte! Happy Monday with MAPs 👋

This week, we'd like to introduce you to our latest and greatest addition to the Butte team -- Shelby, the lovely face that will be greeting you when you come to the office! She is an LPN extraordinaire, with experience in mental health, primary care, neurology, and now, interventional pain management!

A little more about her:
🏒 I am originally from Hamilton, MT, and I am a part of the superior fan base, GO GRIZ!
🐶 Myself, my husband, 3 children, two dogs and two cats have lived in Butte for 10 years.
🌮 My favorite food is Mexican but I love a good steak!
🎶 The last concert I went to was Dierks Bentley. The next concert I'm going to is GOO GOO DOLLS!!!
😅 I'm very afraid of snakes and heights.
🎧 Current entertainment lineup: Divorced dad rock and 90's music.... any genre!

In my spare time you can find me supporting my kiddos in all their sporting events, cheering on the Griz or MT Tech or spending time outdoors with my family.

Hello, Butte! 👋

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself—or reintroduce myself if we've already met—as it's officially been one year (!!) since I joined the incredible team at Montana Advanced Pain & Spine. And let me tell you: they are The. Real. Deal.

Some of you may already know this, but in case you don't, our main clinic is in Bozeman, where our excellent physicians, APPs, and support staff live and practice. Every Monday, one of our physicians comes to the Butte office for procedure days. Typically, patients establish care with me first and then, depending on their treatment plan, may see one of our physicians for procedures later on.

As for me, you'll find me in the Butte office Monday through Thursday.

A little about me:

🏒 I'm originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, but moved to Montana more than 15 years ago for college (Go Cats!).

🏔️ Along the way, I've lived in New Hampshire and Tennessee, but Montana is where I call home.

🐶🐔 My husband and I live in Anaconda with our two dogs and our "ladies"—a flock of chickens who keep life interesting.

☘️ I'm the oldest of four siblings who are scattered across Oregon, Florida, and Minnesota, while the rest of my very large—and very Irish—family remains in Minnesota.

🌮 My favorite food is Mexican.

🎶 The last concert I went to was the Kitchen Dwellers.

😅 I'm very afraid of heights.

🎧 Current entertainment lineup: It Isn't Like That, and I'm nearing the end of the Love Trapped podcast.

Over the years, I've learned that Montanans are tough—Buttians especially! But being tough doesn't mean you have to suffer through pain, and that's where I hope to step in!

Here's to helping people move better, feel better, smile a little more, and maybe even share a laugh or two along the way.

✨ Well… hello there, Southwest Montana! ✨Happy MAPS Monday✨

We thought it might be time to properly (re)introduce ourselves.

At Montana Advanced Pain & Spine, we help people get back to doing the things they love — whether that’s fishing, golfing, gardening, skiing, chasing kids/grandkids, or simply getting through the day with less pain and more comfort. Because as it turns out, “just getting older” isn’t actually a treatment plan. 😉

Our team specializes in personalized, minimally invasive treatment options for chronic and acute pain, with one very important philosophy: listening to our patients first. Because no one wants to feel like just another chart in a stack.

We know living with pain can affect every part of life, and our goal is to help improve function, mobility, and quality of life — while making sure you feel supported along the way.

We’re proud to serve the communities of Butte, Bozeman, and the surrounding areas, and we’re grateful for the trust so many Montanans have placed in us.

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll also be introducing the amazing people behind the scenes here at MAPS — because good healthcare starts with good humans. 💙
