Another successful EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course) training at the airport! Our new hires put in the work, sharpened their driving skills, and showed great teamwork. We also got to enjoy some gorgeous views of the Bridgers.

We received a surprise passenger when this sweet dog jumped into our ambulance!
After a little detective work, we reunited him with his owner. We’re happy to report this patient’s tail is wagging and he’s safely back at home.

June 17, 2026, 4:45 PM: Today, at around 10:52 a.m., the Bozeman Police Department responded to the 300 block of E Griffin Dr., just west of N Rouse Ave., for a reported vehicle versus bicyclist collision. Upon arrival, it was quickly determined that the bicyclist, a 9-year-old girl, had died from injuries sustained in the crash. The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office/Coroner will release the deceased child’s name at a later date.

Several drivers witnessed the collision and later provided statements to law enforcement. The driver of the vehicle involved stopped immediately and is cooperating with the investigation.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share this update. The loss of a child is a tragedy. Our deepest condolences go out to the friends, family, and truly the entire community, as we are all impacted by this loss,” said Bozeman Police Chief Jim Veltkamp.

This incident is currently being investigated by detectives from the Bozeman Police Department, along with assistance from the Montana Highway Patrol. Preliminary findings indicate the girl was riding westbound on the south side of Griffin Dr., then made an abrupt turn northbound across Griffin Dr. in front of the westbound vehicle.

“We appreciate Bozeman Fire Department, Montana Highway Patrol, American Medical Response, and the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance during this event,” Veltkamp stated.
