So this is day 3 of this individual Shelby Chapman I never met - who works in behavioral healthcare (allegedly - I have no idea where she works) 😳 editing her fake 1 star review so it would be on top of my Google business profile again - making more false allegations up and created a conversation that didn't happen...simply to smear a person and business she doesn't know. There is nothing "honest" about this and Google reviews aren't a platform where Facebook disagreements are continued publicly to direct potential clients from my business. Neither is showing up on my page and arguing with actual clients. I hope this fake review gets reported for harassment, because that is exactly what this is.
"Shelby, you have never been a client of Pretty Girl Ink, have never visited my establishment, and have never received a piercing or any other service from me. This review was posted only after you engaged with me on a local Facebook post regarding my piercing services and continued the disagreement after I made it clear I was no longer interested in debating the subject.
Since you have now edited your review to claim that I stated I was “licensed through the FDA,” I want to address this very clearly: I never stated that I was licensed through the FDA. I have preserved screenshots of the entire conversation, including my exact statements and their context.
In the Facebook conversation, while discussing STUDEX, I stated that I was “licensed through them in NY and NJ,” and immediately thereafter specifically told you that you were welcome to contact STUDEX directly. I separately referenced the NJ Health Department in that same comment. At no point did I state that the FDA licenses me as an individual piercer. Your characterization of my statement as claiming that I am “licensed through the FDA” is inaccurate.
I did state that the STUDEX System 75 method/device was FDA approved for ages three months and older. Whether terminology regarding FDA registration, regulation, clearance, approval, or manufacturer age recommendations could have been worded more precisely in a Facebook comment is entirely separate from attributing to me a claim that I personally am licensed by the FDA, which I did not make.
Pretty Girl Ink uses the STUDEX System 75 medical ear-piercing system. System 75 is not a traditional reusable spring-loaded piercing gun. It utilizes sterile, single-use cartridges, and the instrument itself does not contact the client's skin. I have completed the professional training and certification applicable to the services I provide and operate in accordance with the licensing and health requirements applicable to my business.
You are absolutely entitled to prefer hollow-needle piercing. You are entitled to disagree with the use of System 75. You are entitled to have a different opinion from mine. What I strongly dispute is your decision to take a disagreement from a Facebook comment section to the Google Business Profile of a business you have never patronized, give that business a one-star rating, attribute statements to its owner that I did not make, and explicitly encourage prospective customers to take their business elsewhere.
This is not a review arising from a customer experience with Pretty Girl Ink. In fact, your own edited review acknowledges that this originated from an interaction on Facebook.
I have preserved the original Facebook interaction, this review, its subsequent edits, and the chronology of events. The review has been reported to Google, and because this situation has now progressed beyond a Facebook disagreement into public statements concerning my professional credentials and business, I am consulting legal counsel regarding my rights and any remedies available to protect my business, professional reputation, and livelihood. I am prepared to pursue whatever appropriate legal action counsel advises.
I will not continue a public back-and-forth regarding this matter. Any further relevant communications, publications, or alterations will simply be documented and preserved for the appropriate channels.
I take the safety of my clients—particularly the infants and children entrusted to my care—extremely seriously. I have invested years of work, significant resources, and an enormous part of my life into building Pretty Girl Ink. I welcome legitimate feedback from actual clients, and I respect that people can have different professional opinions.
What I will not ignore are false representations about statements I made or attempts to damage the reputation of my business arising from a personal disagreement outside of my establishment.
Pretty Girl Ink will continue to protect its clients, its reputation, and the business I have worked incredibly hard to build.
