The Season , The Chapter, 📖 The Road I am traveling now…
Society often tells us that life only counts when we’re chasing goals, climbing ladders, or reinventing ourselves.
But there is another kind of life.
A quieter life.
A life built around people you love .
And I was living that life. And I am living that life.
The days felt busy because they were busy. They are still busy!
Not because I was distracted from living, but because I was living.
I was raising children and still raising my children.
Building a marriage.
Showing up for school events, family dinners, military moves, late-night conversations, doctor’s appointments, and all the ordinary moments that quietly become the story of a life.
There weren’t always milestones to celebrate.
No promotions to announce.
No grand reinventions.
Just the steady work of loving people my people.
And somewhere along the way, society convinced many of us that these years don’t count. That if we’re not pursuing a passion, growing a business, finding ourselves, or becoming something more, we’re somehow falling behind.
But I don’t believe that anymore.
I wasn’t lost.
I wasn’t waiting for my life to begin.
I was in it.
Deep in it!
Fully in it.
The truth is, some seasons are about becoming, and some seasons are about belonging.
Some seasons are about building something for yourself, and others are about being present for the people you love.
Neither is more important than the other.
Now, at 47, I find myself standing between chapters.
My children need me differently.
My parents need me more.
I have a little more time, yet I am more aware than ever that time is not unlimited.
And instead of looking back with regret, I’m learning to look back with gratitude.
Those years weren’t empty.
They weren’t lost.
They were full.
Full of ordinary moments that became a life.
Maybe this season isn’t about finding myself.
Maybe it’s about remembering that I was never missing in the first place.
You are not missing. đź’ś
