This October, we're highlighting a partnership that's made a real difference for local patients: Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks

Through our grant support, BCFO has been able to help breast cancer patients across Stone and Taney counties get to and from treatment — removing one more obstacle during an already difficult time.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a chance to recognize not just the patients fighting this disease, but the local organizations working every day to support them. We're proud to call BCFO a partner.

Time is running out. ⏰

If you've been meaning to apply for a Skaggs Foundation scholarship, October 16 is your deadline. Applications are open now for Stone or Taney County residents, Boone County, Arkansas residents, and Cox Medical Center-Branson employees (or their family members) pursuing a healthcare education.

Last year, we awarded 92 scholarships across all cycles — including a record 66 scholarships totaling $42,750 in the spring cycle alone. Your healthcare education matters to us, and we'd love for you to be part of the next group of recipients.

We had the great honor of hosting several of Skaggs Foundation's past board members and founders today. Sitting together and hearing the rich history of the Foundation's beginnings, its purpose in serving our community, and its connection to the former Skaggs Hospital was a powerful reminder of how far we've come.

As we reflect on the Foundation's growth and evolution over the years, we were reminded that our success today is built on the vision, dedication, and leadership of those who came before us. While not every past board member was present today, we recognize and honor the many individuals who helped shape the Foundation and its lasting impact on this community.

We are so thankful for the time, talent and expertise they invested in Skaggs Foundation. Their commitment laid the foundation for the work we continue today, and their legacy continues to strengthen and inspire our mission.

It's almost time for one of our favorite nights of the year. 💙

Our Annual Skaggs Legacy Endowment Grant Awards Ceremony is coming up on October 15th, where we'll celebrate the local programs and organizations doing incredible work across Stone and Taney counties.

Last year, we awarded $1.3 million in grants to support 52 programs — from expanding medical transportation for rural residents to providing essential dental care for underserved kids. This year's group of grantees is just as inspiring, and we can't wait to celebrate them with you.

Want to be there? RSVP - we'd love to have you. https://form.jotform.com/262245719696066

Today is World Heart Day. 🫀

Small habits like moving a little more, managing stress, and staying on top of checkups add up to real heart health over time.
But for some, heart health isn't about prevention — it's about recovery. Skaggs Foundation has funded cardiopulmonary rehab patient scholarships for more than 20 years. In fact, before we even had a formal grant-making program, we hosted a golf tournament dedicated specifically to this cause. That's how long we've seen the difference it makes.

Your heart matters. So does your community's. Skaggs is proud to fund programs that support heart health across Stone and Taney County.

Why are nonprofits so important to this area?
Yesterday, our Grant Administrator, Nyssa Berhorst, shared the heart behind what makes a compassionate community thrive during the Stone County Health Coalition meeting. When people come together with a shared desire to make a difference, our communities become stronger, healthier, and more connected. ❤
If you'd like to learn more about the impact Skaggs Foundation is making in our region, we invite you to join us for the Skaggs Legacy Endowment Grant Ceremony on October 15. For the first time in our history, this event is open to the public. We simply ask that you RSVP. Use this link below 🔽

One grant. Real impact. 🦷

At Jordan Valley, the dental team sees patients every day who need care but don't always have a way to pay for it since most of the patients they serve are low-income. Thanks to a grant Skaggs Foundation awarded to OACAC, several of those patients were able to get the dental care they needed.

"The Skaggs Foundation dental grant was an absolute blessing to several of our patients. OACAC was also very easy and communicated well regarding the patients who received or applied for the grant." - Brooklyn Bailey at Jordan Valley

Giving like this adds up, and it's exactly the kind of impact that fuels our Day of Giving on December 1st. Mark your calendar.
