Today was a sad day at AE39 as we said goodbye to Kierstyn Conerty. She is going to work in a burn ICU to gain her nursing experience now that she’s a RN. Good luck to you. You’re going to do great things! Come back and visit with us anytime!

AE 39 program manager Sarah E Pirtle Fipps was out at Posey Twp. FireStation Staunton Indiana today to teach Basic airway management skills and lecture. We included review of some of their equipment and meds with a protocol review as well. We want to thank them for having us out and enjoy our partnership.

Please consider attending their spaghetti dinner coming up Sept 12th from 4-7 pm! We hope to be able to fly out too! 😋 🍝 🚁

AE 39 had the pleasure of showing off our aircraft to a few of the med students that are from Kenya after our crew brought them a patient. Here’s a little back story on them!

The students from Moi University School of Medicine in Kenya are here for six weeks as part of the educational exchange through the AMPATH Kenya partnership. While here they participate in clinical rotations with other IU School of Medicine students. This year their rotations include internal medicine, surgery and OB/Gyn. They also experience other Hoosier and US highlights such as the Indiana State Fair, Colts game, ice cream social and other activities with IU med students, staff and faculty. The bidirectional educational exchange has been part of AMPATH since the partnership began in 1990. IU School of Medicine students, residents, fellows and faculty also travel to Kenya as part of the partnership.

Hopefully we sparked some interest in them becoming flight physicians! ❤️🚁🤍🚁💙

Here in Owensboro we are turning out more AHA CPR Instructors. In our recent class we have Paramedic Supervisors James Richey and Jarred Higgs, Paramedic Caitryn Addington Program Director of AE 46 Lacee Combs; and representing AE 39 Michell Elliott also all the way from California was Ashley Poesy Lead Instructor for Kaiser.

We’ve been out and about visiting with local EMS services this week and last. Handing out our AE39 “hydration kits.” They included water, liquid IV and propel packets, Italian ice pops to freeze, polar ice gum, wint-o-green mints and a reusable cooling towel! Here’s just a few pictures we were able to capture. If we visited you and we didn’t get your pictures please add them here!! We also did our Heat Emergencies CE lecture for Greene CO EMS. Thank you for having us out! Don’t forget you can have us come and do CE lectures for your organizations!
