💙 Every child deserves a place where they feel like they belong.

For some children and teens, making friends comes naturally.

For others, social interactions can feel confusing, exhausting, or overwhelming. They may want connection deeply but struggle to know where to start.

That’s why we created our Social Connections Groups.

These groups aren’t about teaching children how to “fit in.” They’re about helping young people build confidence, understand themselves and others, strengthen communication skills, and develop meaningful relationships in a supportive environment.

Sometimes all it takes is one positive connection to change how a child feels about themselves.

We’re honored to be a part of creating those opportunities.

☀️ Summer is better with connection.

Our Social Connections Groups are designed to help children and teens build meaningful friendships, strengthen communication skills, grow confidence, and navigate social situations in a supportive, neurodiversity-affirming environment.

Through shared interests, guided activities, games, and real-life social experiences, participants have opportunities to practice skills that extend far beyond the group setting.

Whether your child struggles to make connections, maintain friendships, or simply wants a place where they can feel understood and accepted, we’re here to help.

🌿 Small therapeutic groups

🎉 Happy International Day of Play! 🎉

When we think about play, it’s easy to see it as something children do for fun.

But play is so much more than that.

Play is how children learn, connect, communicate, problem-solve, regulate emotions, and make sense of the world around them.

At the Neurodivergence Discovery Clinic, we utilize a DIR/Floortime® approach because we believe meaningful growth happens through relationships and shared experiences. Through child-led, relationship-based play, we help children develop communication, social-emotional skills, regulation, flexibility, and confidence while honoring who they are.

In DIR/Floortime, we don’t ask children to fit into our world.

We join them in theirs.

Today, we celebrate the power of play and the incredible ways it supports connection, development, and growth.

💙 Because sometimes the most important work looks like play.

🚨 Myth: Asking for help is a sign of weakness.

✅ Reality: Asking for help is one of the strongest things a person can do.

Many men spend years carrying stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, and burnout on their own. They tell themselves to push through, work harder, or keep it all inside.

But real strength isn’t pretending everything is okay.

Real strength is recognizing when something isn’t working and taking action to improve it.

Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you, because you’re not broken.

It’s about gaining tools, perspective, and support so you can show up more fully for yourself, your family, your relationships, and your goals.

This Men’s Mental Health Month, let’s challenge the stigma and create space for honest conversations about mental health.

You don’t have to carry it all alone.

💙 Support is available.
💙 Healing is possible.
💙 Your mental health matters.

💛 Happy National Best Friends Day! 💛

Best friends are one of life’s greatest gifts.

They celebrate our wins, sit with us through our struggles, remind us of our strengths, and help us feel seen, valued, and understood. The right friend can make even the hardest seasons feel a little lighter.

While therapy isn’t a replacement for friendship, a strong therapeutic relationship can offer many of those same qualities. A safe space to be yourself, compassionate support during difficult moments, encouragement when you’re feeling stuck, and someone who genuinely believes in your growth.

At Purposeful Growth & Wellness, we’re honored to walk alongside children, teens, adults, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges and discover new possibilities for healing and growth.

If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, let today be your reminder that you don’t have to do it alone.

🌿 Your journey matters.
🌿 Your story matters.
🌿 Support is available.

We’re here when you’re ready.

What a meaningful afternoon at the OACB 2026 Conference in Columbus!

Dustin Dale and I had the opportunity to speak on Whole Person Leadership at the Ohio Association of County Boards Serving People with Developmental Disabilities Conference.

It was an honor to be in a room with so many leaders, professionals, and organizations dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The work happening in this space requires compassion, resilience, emotional intelligence, and leadership that truly sees the whole person.

For the last year and a half, we’ve been helping organizations and leaders bridge the gab between mental health and leadership.

Truly understanding that sustainable leadership is about more than performance and productivity.

It’s about self-awareness, communication, regulation, relationships, values, and the culture leaders create around them.

We had around 150 leaders join us both in person and virtually to talk about what it looks like to lead people well while also taking care of the human behind the role.

One of the biggest messages we shared today:

If we want healthier teams, stronger workplaces, and more connected cultures, we have to start focusing on the whole person — not just the position they hold.

Grateful for the opportunity to share this message and continue bringing these conversations into leadership spaces across organizations and communities.

Thank you to Willie Jones and the entire conference team for having us, and thank you to every person serving the developmental disability community. Your work matters deeply. 💛

Mother’s Day can be beautiful, and it can also be tender.

For some, it is filled with gratitude, joy, and celebration.
For others, it brings grief, longing, exhaustion, complicated relationships, infertility, loss, or reminders of what feels missing.

However this day meets you, we hope you don’t feel pressure to force it into something it isn’t.

You are allowed to feel what you feel.
You are allowed to hold gratitude and grief together.
You are allowed to move through the day with gentleness.

From all of us at PGW, we are holding space for every kind of mother, every kind of story, and every emotion this day may bring. 🤍

There is so much power in teaching our kids that two things can be true at once.

At PGW, we talk often about coexisting emotions — how we can hold disappointment and gratitude, frustration and hope, all at the same time.

The “unfortunately / fortunately” game is one simple way to help kids name what feels hard while also noticing what is still good. It builds emotional flexibility, perspective, and resilience.

And truthfully, this practice is not just for our kids — it matters for us, too.

At Purposeful Growth & Wellness, we believe small, practical tools can create meaningful shifts in how families communicate and move through hard moments together.

Save this as a simple tool to come back to the next time your family is navigating a hard moment.
