What a crazy and chaotic 4 weeks!
The big question has been why I went into cardiac arrest. The simple answer is I was having allergic reaction to several things I was consistently eating. Primarily meat. We could look at blood type and see that the very things I’ve been eating over the last 3-5 years were the very things I began struggling with during pollination season. We are leaning towards Lyme (or you could consider alpha gal) although AG didn’t actually show on me in the blood test- mammalian foods did. Same same.
Around March it was like my stomach began seizing and I could no longer tolerate foods that weren’t actually giving me a problem before. I did the exact same thing last year in February which gives credence to the Lyme/AG. A few of you who saw me have since told me how worried you were about me. There didn’t actually seem to be a direct correlation that I could see until one of my doctors mentioned alpha gal to my husband. In my quest to understand what happened, what did I miss, what’s the correlation, it’s pretty clear that my histamine levels were high due to mammalian foods, which is exactly what Lyme/AG is and can be triggered during pollination season. It can begin with regular allergic reactions, to anaphylaxis, to GI issues to cardiac. I’ve suffered with season allergies since I was a child. And during the same time frame for me, my daughters were also dealing with high histamine levels. It was strange how three of us at the same time were exhibiting behaviors for allergic reactions- albeit very different reactions. One of my best friends has said it for years that I need to eat like an A (blood type diet) and here I am thriving on it. To say I’m really hard headed is an understatement.
And then if life didn’t already throw me a curveball, two weeks later my husband has a stroke. It doesn’t matter what, why, or anything anyone says- I know it was me. This isn’t me seeking validation one way or the other. I’m not looking for any reassurances that it wasn’t. I want you to sit with this: 11 minutes. 11 minutes is a very long time to have your spouse on the ground with no pulse, no breath, to get your mind around that fact, run for your phone, call 911 and relay while doing CPR, feeling the cracks you just created in their ribs/chest from the compressions. I only have two- very small memories of that day- but my husband will have a lifetime of hearing me hit the bathroom floor, while he’s putting away a few groceries, and walk into the scene he did. That alone is mine and I vow to never do that again.
Take care of your body. Take care of your mind. Take care of each other- and that’s something I miss. Tentatively, I plan to come back a few half days for a little while. Mondays in Bremen and two other days in Carrollton. I promise to listen to my body and my sweet sister has carved out a little resting area for me in between clients.
Thank you so much for your prayers, notes, and blessings for me and my family. We felt all of them and rejoice in each merciful day we’re given.
Let me know if you’d like to get on the schedule. Looking at the week of the 27th of July.
Much love and blessings 💛
