Jerry Clayton established Clayton Pharmacy in June of 1967 and remained the main pharmacist for 38 years. Some have been with the pharmacy for many, many years.

LeRoy Strickland, who was hired by Jerry in January 2000, became the Pharmacist in Charge after Jerry’s retirement in 2005. Clayton Pharmacy has now been in business for 45 years in the Bremen, Georgia community. It has evolved over the years from an old time picturesque pharmacy with a soda fountain to a more modern business, yet it still remains a small town establishment, reminiscent of days go

ne by. Most importantly, business is still conducted as if it were 1967. The staff at Clayton Pharmacy knows each and every customer who comes through their front door. The customers are not just numbers; they are the people who make our community great. The Clayton Pharmacy staff is a very professional group of people who are here to help you. Today we honor our founder, Mr. Jerry Clayton, who left a lasting impact on many lives. His career as a pharmacist spanned almost 50 years. He was known for his quick wit and clever remarks that kept us laughing. He could tell a story from the past so well you would feel like you were there in the present moment. In addition to his humor and stellar personality, he had a deep and genuine care for his patients. He didn’t just fill prescriptions…he reassured and treated every person with kindness and respect. He was a steady voice of comfort for his employees, patients, and friends. He made people feel valued and understood.
Mr. Jerry also knew the importance of being present in the community. He served multiple roles in many different organizations. He was known to show up and lend a hand wherever it was needed. His warm smile and infectious laugh could turn any ordinary day around.

His life will be remembered with fondness because of the example he set for all of us. His legacy will live on as a dedicated pharmacist and Christian man that cared deeply about people. He was the epitome of a gentleman. He will be deeply missed. We will be forever grateful for his hard work, dedication, and sacrifice that made Clayton Pharmacy what it is today.
Thank you, Mr. Jerry. You will be missed.
