Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5 Bremerton A portion of property tax collected in Kitsap County is earmarked for the VAF.

The DAV is a non-profit organization geared towards helping Disabled American Veterans and their families with resources and services within the community for VA Claims and Death Benefits. Washington State law and the Kitsap County code have established the Veterans Assistance Fund as a steady source of tax dollars to be utilized for the needs of indigent veterans and their families. The overall g

oal is to assist all veterans-in-the-need back into mainstream society by ensuring they understand all the programs available to them. Temporary emergency assistance is available for:
Rental and mortgage assistance
Energy or utilities assistance
Food assistance
Transportation assistance
Medical and prescription coverage
Burial or cremation assistance
Auto repair
Appliance repair
Clothing

The Kitsap Area Veterans Alliance (KAVA) supports two standdowns a year that provide import services to our indigent and homeless veterans of Kitsap County. The 19th Hole Bar & Grill in Bremerton will be holding an event and fundraiser to help support KAVA’s efforts to provide essential services to some of our communities most vulnerable. Please join the 19th hole for the “2026 Summer Community Night” on August 19th at 6 PM, 21+. There will be raffles and prizes as well as live music! Hope to see you there. ❤️
