Hey everyone!

Hey, we just wanted to send out the biggest and most heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our event this weekend.

To our staff, family and volunteers:
Without you, nothing would’ve run smoothly. Between checking people in, operating the MC system, setting printers and WiFi up, and keeping everything going, we couldn’t have done it without you. Not only that, but you provided moral support to the Imperial team by supporting us. Having moms, husbands, girlfriends and everyone else show up made this weekend easier on us. Thank you!

To our vendors:
Without you, there’s no show. Thank you for your professionalism, enthusiasm and effort in bringing your equipment, and your wonderful attitudes! Thank you for donating prizes for our giveaways and for bringing the heat for the competition! The group we had this year was incredible.

To our attendees:
You guys were the soul of the convention! Between you buying flash, being models for the competition, making connections with the shops for later appointments and just the great energy, we are so thankful that you chose to spend your weekend with us!

To the Kitsap Fairgrounds Staff:
You guys were troopers. Thank you for dealing with our inexperience, answering questions and phone calls and showing up whenever we needed tables, chairs or anything else, we couldn’t have done it without you.

To everyone:
Thank you. Whether your contribution was big or small, this show couldn’t have been what it was without your help and support. We have a LAUNDRY list of changes for next year and can’t wait to see you all back for a bigger convention, bigger competition with more categories and prizes, and even more to see and do. We here at Imperial are truly humbled by the love from our community and honored at the chance to give something back to the people around us. Nearly everyone at Imperial is a Kitsap county native. This show was hosted by people who truly love this area and these people and we hope it showed. Thanks for your trust and SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!

We are so excited to announce the attendance of Kate Perets as a judge for our tattoo competition!

Some words from Kate:

With over 11 years in the tattoo world, I’ve built a name around vibrant color work, street-influenced aesthetics, and a fearless creative voice. My tattoos mix graffiti, stickers, and expressive portraits — creating a bold, modern visual language.

I’ve developed a distinctive style that fuses urban energy with technical precision, bringing a rebellious edge into fine-tuned tattoo art.

For me, tattooing is a powerful form of self-expression — where emotion, design, and technique come together to tell personal, human stories through ink.

I’m passionate about mentoring up-and-coming artists, sharing knowledge through workshops and one-on-one guidance. My focus is on pushing creative growth while staying true to modern technique.

I also speak and judge regularly at major international conventions, always prioritizing healed results, artistic integrity, and fair, honest critique.

Beyond the studio, I build creative collaborations and curate projects that push boundaries in art, education, and community.

My goal? To challenge, uplift, and evolve the tattoo world — one fearless piece at a time.

Kitsap Tattoo Convention Competition Rules:

Entry is $20 per category, per person.

Each entry needs to be submitted at least
2hrs before their category is called to allow the judges ample time to review the entries!

The competition will consist of the following categories:

Saturday:
- Small Black and Gray (Announced at 12:00pm
- Entries required by 10:00am).
- Large Black and Gray (Announced at 2:00pm -Entries required by 12:00pm).
- Small Color (Announced at 4:00pm - Entries required by 2:00pm).
- Tattoo of the Day (FRESH) (Announced at 6:00pm - Entries required by 4:00pm).

Sunday:
- Large Color (Announced at 12:00pm - Entries required by 10:00am).
- Traditional (Announced at 2:00pm - Entries required by 12:00pm).
- Realism (Announced at 4:00pm - Entries required by 2:00pm).
- Tattoo of the Day (FRESH) (Announced at 6:00pm - Entries required by 4:00pm).

Competition Rules:
* Bring a model with a tattoo you've done and would like to enter. A small changing booth will be provided if your model needs to undress privately to show the judges their complete tattoo.
* Please make sure your tattoo falls within the category you've entered. If your tattoo doesn't fit the category (for example if you enter a black and white tattoo in a color category) you'll be disqualified.
* Tattoo of the day MUST be a tattoo done at the convention on that day. Tattoo of the day can be anything: color, tribal, geometric, black and grey, Polynesian, etc.
* If you are entering a tattoo into multiple categories, please let the judges know so that they can judge it for both categories.

Judging Criteria:
Each category has a specific set of criteria that the judges follow and do not make exceptions. The criteria the judges follow will be:
CLEANLINESS,
COMPOSITION,
PLACEMENT, CREATIVITY.
* Cleanliness of the tattoo is looked at carefully so any inconsistencies such as blowouts, scarring, shaky line work, patchy shading, and if it looks unfinished will go against the tattoo.
* Composition of the tattoo is judged how well the tattoo is designed, placed and if it is legible.The tattoo must demonstrate contrast, values, depth, and structure in order for it to be legible when viewing up close or at a distance.
* Creativity can be the defining factor in whether or not a tattoo places in a category as several tattoos might meet all the criteria. The more unique the tattoo or concept often will catch the judges eye.
* Size and Coverage: We are not looking for the biggest and boldest looking tattoo, we are looking for the best tattoo so even though we appreciate these things we judge all tattoos the same regardless of size and coverage. We want the cleanest and best tattoo possible, and this means all tattoos of any size large or small have the same chance.
