"This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it."

This beautiful truth is meant for every day. It's meant for the painful days like starting treatment for leukemia. It's meant for the scary days when your child has a stroke. It's meant for the thrilling days like when you meet the musician whose song ministered to your heart during those dark days. It's meant for the celebrating days like when you ring the bell ending two and a half years of chemotherapy, lumbar punctures, hundreds of days spent at oncology or the ER, or admitted to the hospital.

It's made for alllll the days.

Today was my last iv chemotherapy and my last spinal tap. I have three days left of taking oral chemotherapy but then I am done and done! I will be coming every month to get labs drawn and they’ll check for leukemia coming back for the first year. Just as a precaution.
I will be getting my port out this Friday as well! I’m so happy for the people who wore pink to celebrate with me today thank you soooo much! 🥰🩷🫶💕 Thanks for all the prayers and support I love you all!! God bless each one of you!!!

Thanks for praying guys! She didn't have to be admitted. It looks like it was "just" her liver numbers being super high.

So we are holding her chemo till they check her numbers next week. Please keep praying as she is still weak, very tired, nauseous, and struggling to keep much food down.

Be blessed...

Gwen and I are working on the mission field today. We're at the ER for chest pains, shortness of breath, and syncope.

Prayers for a simple issue like electrolytes would be appreciated.

If it's something more...God has good plans and can be trusted.

This has been a full week. She had an LP, (with the stroke causing chemo... don't worry she took her meds to combat it), two infusion chemos, a two hr immunity infusion, an increase in her oral chemo by 25%. Did I forget anything???

I am grateful for maintenance as it has meant less emergency hospitalizations, less spending all week at oncology, less all the things. But we are still very much in the thick of fighting leukemia. We can just breath a little easier. We can make plans for small adventures and feel up to most of them.

My most frequent prayer request is Lord, give her the stamina to strive for all the healthy choices... movement, good food, protective sleep, opportunities for fun that support her body healing the best it can. Continue to give her your perspective in all of this hardship. Bless her hands in all she does for your name.

Thank you for keeping Gwen and our entire family in your constant prayers. We are beyond grateful.

Be blessed

Hey guys! It’s been a while so here’s an update! I got a hair cut for the first time in a while!!! Little shaggy wolf cut style! Happy to have hair!
Life updates:

I am engaged to Max Straub! Happened April 24th! I am SOOOO HAPPY! We do not have a date yet:)

I have avascular necrosis in a ton of my joints. It’s in both hips, both shoulders, both knees, and it’s in my left ankle and my left toes and I have pain in my right ankle and toes as well but we haven’t done images on them yet but doctors think it’s avascular necrosis as well. And I’ve got pain in my right elbow too. So that’s a lot. I will need my left hip and both shoulders replaced. Those joints are the worst. The left hip is collapsed. Both shoulders are collapsed in different areas as well. So they’re all beyond help basically. The knees look better thankfully and we might do a core decompression surgery on both knees but that would happen after my big three surgeries (left hip, both shoulders). All other smaller joints look okay enough. I am doing pt for all the joints. It’s helping rn and helping me gain strength to help me ease off pressure on the joints and it prepares me for the surgeries. I’m in pain all the time but it’s manageable.

I am mentally doing okay. I had a couple moments where I was so hopeless but God is showing me the blessings he’s given me and shifted my focus on being grateful. It’s still hard and I have to shift my focus sometimes a couple times a day but God is SO GOOD.

I was approved for getting disability checks each month! So now I am blessed with money! I am helping pay for my bills now and I get some more adult freedom back! Very encouraging!

With my new money I am now able to do some school hopefully! I applied to EMCC! Hoping to do a summer class that will hopefully go towards my career studies I applied to starting in the fall! I am so very grateful and excited for this new season!

I will be done with treatment end of this year! We don’t have a scheduled date yet but once we get closer we will! Treatments are going good and my numbers look fine!

Thank you so much to everyone who prays for me! It helps more than anything and i appreciate it SOOOOO MUCH! Love you all!

I can't believe it has been a year already!

February 20/2025 Gwen suffered a stroke from methotrexate toxicity. This was in the picu shortly thereafter. As we are pushing through a new set of challenges, it is good to remember God's goodness, provision, and tender care of us during that time.

Girl...look how far we have come since then!!!

Thank you again for all your prayers and encouraging words along the way. They have been life changing. I could not have imagined how we would have survived without them.

Be blessed
