Look at the Grand Canyon. Something as seemingly soft and gentle as water, flowing consistently over time, carved its way through solid rock and created something breathtaking.

Today is National Forgiveness Day. 🤍

At 3 Roots Rising, we believe forgiveness is a gift you give yourself.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean what happened was okay.
It doesn’t mean you have to forget.
And it certainly doesn’t mean allowing someone to hurt you over and over again.

Sometimes forgiveness means releasing the anger, the resentment, and the weight of what happened so you can finally move forward.

You can forgive someone and still choose distance.
You can forgive and still have boundaries.
You can forgive and decide that someone no longer belongs in your life.

Because sometimes the person you need to release from your life…
is also the person you need to release from your heart.

True beauty has very little to do with how you look.

It’s in how you love.

Sometimes letting go takes more courage than holding on.

Holding on can feel familiar. Even when something hurts, there is comfort in what we know.

But letting go means trusting that there is something beyond what you can see.

It takes courage to let go of someone you love.
To let go of a relationship that no longer feels right.
To let go of old versions of yourself.
To let go of resentment, expectations, control, or the need for an apology.
To let go of the future you imagined and make room for the life that is actually waiting for you.

Letting go isn’t giving up.
It isn’t weakness.
And it doesn’t mean you didn’t care.

Sometimes letting go is the deepest act of self-love.

You can honor what was, be grateful for what it taught you, and still choose to release it.
