I felt it was about time I introduced the man behind the scenes and why it is I started North Pointe Safety. My name is Brady and I started this company as a way to help educate / train people in CPR / AED. As someone who is a first responder I know how important adequate training is. I also know the unfortunate side of things where even a little bit of training could have helped saved someone’s life’s.

I work in and now train in industry where we don’t leave it up to chance or to the adage of “it won’t happen to me.” As a father of two young children I know it most definitely can happen and will happen at the least expected time.

I personally have been witness to two instances where my own children were potentially chocking and required action to be taken. Both times my wife stepped in and delivered back blows causing the pretzel and piece of bacon to become dislodged. The most recent time was while we were at Topgolf and my daughter started to choke on a piece of bacon. Luckily she came over to us and my wife was able to apply backslaps dislodging the bacon enough for her to pull it out.

These stories aren’t meant to help promote business, but to explain that they can happen anywhere and to anyone. So why not be prepared, why not be drained for the unimaginable so when it happens you to can make sure your loved ones are waiting on help to arrive because you’re unprepared.

Today take time to pause and say a prayer of remembrance as well as thanks. We remember where we were when we heard the unsettling news. We remember the days following of wondering about those we loved, friends, family members, neighbors and strangers. It is a day and time where the flag 🇺🇸 was flown on every car and infront of every house. We will never forget this day and especially those who were lost. God bless everyone and continue to bless all those for whom their lives were forever changed on this day 25 years ago.

Twenty-five years after Sept. 11, 2001, we pause to remember the lives lost, honor the first responders and service members who answered the call, and recognize the resilience of a nation forever changed by that day.

The legacy of 9/11 lives not only in remembrance, but in the generations of Americans who chose service, sacrifice and commitment to something greater than themselves.

Today, we honor the fallen, those who responded in our nation’s darkest hours, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Think CPR is just "press and pray"? Think again. 🫀
We’ve all seen it in the movies, but real-life CPR is all about the technique. Whether you’re certified or just want to be a better bystander, here are 3 "Tips & Tricks" that make a massive difference:

1. The "Beat" Trick (It’s not just a song) 🎶
Everyone says "Stayin’ Alive" by the Bee Gees (100–120 beats per minute). But if you’re panicking, you might speed up. Pro-tip: If you can’t remember the song, just think of the beat of "Another One Bites the Dust" (Queen) or even "Baby Shark"—yes, really. Whatever gets you to that steady, rhythmic pace.

2. Let the Chest Recoil 🆙
This is the #1 mistake we see. After you push down, you must let the chest come all the way back up. If you lean on the chest, the heart doesn't have room to refill with blood between pumps. Push hard, but let it rise. Think of it like a sponge—it only works if you let it expand!

3. The AED is the "Brain" of the Operation 🧠
If an AED is available, use it immediately. Don't worry about "doing it wrong"—the device is literally designed to walk you through it. It won't deliver a shock unless the person needs it. It’s like a GPS for your hands; just follow the voice prompts and let it do the thinking for you.
