💜 Reiki & Massage Practitioners Wanted!

Play Warriors is looking for local Reiki and massage practitioners who would like to participate in a FREE monthly Saturday Reiki & Massage Share for parents and caregivers impacted by loss, grief, and trauma.

We’re looking for practitioners willing to donate their time once a month to provide some much-needed relaxation, care, and support. 💜

It’s also a great opportunity to network with other practitioners, get your name out in the community, and connect with potential new clients while giving back to families who could really use some extra care.

Interested?
📧 [email protected]

Please share or tag a Reiki or massage practitioner who might want to be part of this! 🙏

One of my patients was Dolly’s biggest fan. ❤️

As soon as I heard about Dolly’s passing, I called Roxy. Her response was so simple and beautiful:

“It’s okay. She is with her husband, Carl, now—and her mom and dad.”

Dolly has been a huge part of Roxy’s life and her cancer journey. In the book I had the privilege of helping her publish about her journey with an ophthalmic brain stem glioma, Roxy shares her love for Dolly and even includes a photo of herself dressed up as Dolly for Halloween.

Through proceeds from her book, we raised enough money for Roxy to take a trip to Dollywood with her then-foster parents, who are now her adoptive parents. ❤️

Sadly, by the time her book was published, Roxy had become completely blind from her disease. She couldn’t see her own incredible story in print, and she couldn’t visually experience all that Dollywood had to offer.

But she went anyway.

Dolly’s music has remained part of Roxy’s journey, too. We’ve added many Dolly songs to her chemo playlist. Recently, I was at a Zac Brown concert and heard “Butterfly,” his song with Dolly. I immediately thought of Roxy and sent it to her.

Roxy is one of the bravest, kindest, most loving humans I have ever met.

During our recent child life sessions at Play Warriors, I’ve been helping Roxy write letters asking organizations for support with her newest dream: turning her book into Braille so that children and adults who are blind or visually impaired can experience her story, too.

Roxy is learning Braille herself. She is learning how to navigate a world she can no longer see—and somehow, through all of it, she continues to bring the brightest light to everyone around her.

I can think of no better way to honor the joy Dolly brought into Roxy’s life than to help Roxy bring her own story to others.

If you or an organization you know would be interested in helping Roxy make her dream of publishing her book in Braille a reality, please reach out to me at [email protected].

Roxy’s amazing book is available on Amazon, and proceeds benefit the Maine Children’s Cancer Program:

Please share. You never know who this might reach. ❤️

Keep shining, Roxy. The world may have grown dark around you, but the light you bring to it is extraordinary. 🦋
