Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) affects how the brain receives and responds to sensory information. For children and adults with SPD, something as simple as a loud room, bright lights, or certain clothing textures can cause discomfort, anxiety, or even distress.

With the right strategies, therapy, and environment, individuals with SPD can thrive, build confidence, and fully engage in the world around them.

• Over- or under-reacting to sounds, touch, or movement
• Difficulty with coordination or balance

• Sensory-seeking behaviors like spinning or crashing

We are very excited to bring occupational therapy in an outpatient setting to our community in Brighton, MI.
Many of you have called or mentioned that finding outpatient occupational therapy has been difficult to find in this area--well, not anymore!
Starting this summer, we will be starting our outpatient occupational therapy program. Our certified occupational therapist will take on pediatrics and adult cases and fit your plan of care to your specific needs.
You can now come to Empowerize Therapy for all three outpatient services: physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy--WOOHOO!

April is Autism Acceptance Month — and the word “acceptance” truly matters.
This month is about more than understanding autism; it’s about embracing autistic individuals and their families, reminding them they belong, and showing unwavering support for who they are.

Calling all Southeastern Michigan speech paths--we are looking to hire this spring/summer!!!

Empowerize Therapy Center--located in Brighton, MI in the Green Oak Mall-- is a neuro rehabilitation center who helps those with neuro-specific conditions receive the best individualized care through physical, speech and occupational therapy.

Our wonderful speech-language pathologist is going out on maternity leave soon, and we are looking for someone who would be interested in an amazing, rewarding, and fun job as our spring/summer SLP!
