This holiday originated in the late 19th century from the fight for fair wages, safe conditions, and the standard eight-hour workday. On June 28, 1894, President Grover Cleveland signed a law making it an official national holiday.

🚨 Take Control of Your Personal Safety This Fall! 🚨

We're excited to announce our Fall R**e Aggression Defense (RAD) classes! Held in collaboration with City of Bristol TN Police Department, this women-only program focuses on awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and practical self-defense tactics.

The course concludes with full-contact simulations where you will safely practice your new skills against certified instructors.

On August 20, YWCA Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia was honored to have one of our team members serve as the guest speaker and share more about our mission and the families we serve.
