The World Cup brought a special kind of joy to the United States, one that reaches far beyond the game itself. Aaron Glantey, CNA, St. Joseph Manor Health Care, Brockton, Massachusetts, decided to channel his love of soccer and the cultural diversity the FIFA World Cup represents to include his multicultural colleagues at St. Joseph’s during the month long tournament.

“My friends and colleagues at St. Joseph come from many different backgrounds and cultures, just like the teams competing in this year’s World Cup,” Aaron explained. “I thought it would be fun to come together and cheer for each of the countries members of our team are related to and build comradery.”

During the tournament, staff members have been wearing the soccer jerseys of their birth countries to the delight of everyone, including the residents.

“We care for all of our residents with the same compassion, empathy and love,” Aaron said. “We want to spread joy that can make a difference in their daily lives, and by celebrating this year’s World Cup together we are doing this.”

Aaron was born in Ghana and came to America 24 years ago. He joined St. Joseph Manor in April 2025 after completing his clinicals for his CNA education.

“St. Joseph Manor is a special place,” he said. “Our Catholic ministry is important to me and I know it makes a difference for the residents we care for. My heart is here. I want the residents to know they are family to me, and I will do everything I can to make them comfortable and feel loved.”
