Nature has a unique way of helping people reconnect: with themselves, with others, and with the present moment.

Time outdoors can reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, support sleep, and increase overall mental well-being, all areas often disrupted during addiction.

That’s one reason nature-based activities can be such a valuable part of the recovery process.

Sometimes healing starts with something as simple as stepping outside, taking a breath, and reconnecting with yourself.

If you or someone you love is struggling, support is here. wellbrookrecovery.com | (866) 511-8581

Why do people work at WellBrook Recovery?

According to Kathryn, it's simple:

They care.

No one comes to work here because it's "just a job." They're here because they want to help people heal, rebuild their lives, and discover what's possible in recovery.

And clients notice the difference.

That's why we hear feedback like this:

"The staff is incredibly kind and make you feel welcomed, safe, and not judged. There is no comparison between how other places treat you and how WellBrook's admissions, techs and nursing staff treat you."

When people genuinely care, you can feel it.

And feeling safe, welcomed, and understood is where healing begins.

🎉 May Employees of the Month

We’re celebrating two team members who went above and beyond last month, each going the extra mile for clients' wellbeing.

Chardon | Matt Amiott, BHT
As a client-turned-staff member who recently celebrated his 2-year sobriety birthday, Matt is someone who always goes above and beyond for our clients. He ensures that they are advocated for and have the opportunity to share vulnerably without judgement.

Matt uses his personal experience in recovery and through WellBrook to make each client feel welcomed and care for. Thank you, Matt, for your warmth and kindness towards our clients, and for your shining example of what life in recovery can look like.

Brookfield | Ryan Seubert, BHT
Ryan goes above and beyond for our clients every day, making sure they feel supported and cared for.

When asked who made an impact on their recovery, clients consistently mention Ryan. Thank you, Ryan, for your dedication and care towards our clients!

Please join us in congratulating Matt and Ryan on this well-deserved recognition.

One of the most misunderstood things about addiction is the belief that people can simply “choose” to stop.

But addiction is rarely that simple.

It often develops through a complex mix of factors — genetics, biology, trauma, mental health struggles, environment, and life experiences. Over time, these factors can create a situation where stopping feels impossible without real support and treatment.

That’s why recovery is about more than just removing substances.
It’s about healing the underlying pain, patterns, and struggles that fuel the addiction in the first place.

And when people begin to understand that truth, compassion can replace judgment.

Healthy eating in recovery doesn’t have to mean perfection.

It’s not about following a strict diet—it’s about learning how to nourish your body in ways that help you feel stronger, clearer, and more energized over time.

Healing happens through small choices repeated daily. What’s one healthy habit you’re working on right now? Share with us below.
