There is still time to visit the Museum of Northern California Art (monca)'s "Through Another Lens" exhibition, running until Sunday, September 27.

The free exhibition features original artwork from community members with disabilities and is produced in partnership with the Disability Action Center - Northern California. It's a powerful look at creativity, independent living, and disability advocacy, told through each artists' own perspective.

Our DSPs, Program Specialists, Job Coaches, and Support Coordinators make a meaningful difference every single day, and we are so grateful for all that you do!

Our crew will be at the Minnesota State Capitol this Thursday, as part of the rescheduled Annual Disability Pride Festival, hosted by ACT - Advocating Change Together.

Now in its fourth year, the one-day event brings together people from across the disability community, including self-advocates, families, local organizations, and elected officials, for a day centered on celebration and advocacy.

If you're attending, make sure to stop by and say hi! We'll be there to answer any questions you may have, as well as share more about current roles with Mains'l.

It's officially Direct Support Professional (DSP) Recognition Week, where we take time to honor the DSPs, Program Specialists, Job Coaches, and Support Coordinators at Mains'l!

Their dedication and compassion, day after day, is what helps make the hopes and dreams of those we support possible, and our communities a better place for everyone.

This Friday, the Mains'l Wellness Collaborative be attending Chico Area Recreation & Park District's screening of Captain America: The First Avenger, as part of their Movie in the Park series.

The group will be meeting up at 6pm, at Veterans Memorial Park, near the restrooms. If you're planning to attend, be sure to bring a chair or blanket along with you, as well as some bug repellent!

After 28 years with Mains'l, we were honored to recently celebrate Kelly Boser McBroom's amazing career and contributions to supporting lives for people to live with meaning and purpose. Kelly's family, friends, former colleagues, and members of the Mains'l crew joined together to thank her and wish her well in her much deserved retirement!

Over the years, Kelly has made a lasting impact through the countless people she has supported, encouraged, developed, and mentored. Her dedication to the people we serve and the crew she has helped shape is something that will be remembered and appreciated for years to come.

Thank you, Kelly, for nearly three decades of compassion, leadership, friendship, and dedication to Mains’l. We are so grateful for everything you have given to our organization and the people who call it home!

With autumn fast approaching, we have been soaking up the last of summer days through our picnics!

Over the last few weeks, our Mains'l community has gathered in Minnesota for afternoons of good food, great company, fun and games, and no shortage of sunshine, even if one picnic did see some rain! At each gathering, it has been great to come together and spend time with one another before the season changes.

As always, we would like to thank those who make our annual summer picnics so great, including our crew members who help organize them, volunteers and everyone who made the time to attend. We can't wait to see everyone next year! 💙

ARRM is thrilled to announce our 2026 Legacy Leader Award recipients! Congratulations to Connie Menne (Sevita/REM), Lynne Megan (TSE, Inc.), and Terri Williams (Mains'l Services). The awardees represent over 120 years of combined service to the disability service industry and have been heavily involved with ARRM by serving on its committees, dedicating countless volunteer hours to support the organization’s mission, leaving a lasting impact on their colleagues and people served. This year's recipients will be honored at the 2026 Leadership Conference next month.

This year, 43 members of our crew attended the Global Leadership Network's Global Leadership Summit, some online and some in person, in Chicago, Illinois. The two day summit brings together leaders from around the world for the opportunity to learn alongside leaders who challenge us to think differently, lead boldly, and make a difference in the world around us.

One of our crew members, attending GLS for the first time, said: "My first GLS experience exceeded every expectation. I walked away with fresh ideas, renewed motivation, and a deeper understanding of what it means to lead with purpose."
