When your body’s energy channels are clear and flowing, everything tends to work better.
✨ This is one reason I love tapping the Gallbladder energy channel. In Chinese medicine, the physical gallbladder is your hardware, while the Gallbladder energy channel is part of your software.
When the channel gets congested, the software gets buggy. You may notice:
• PMS irritability
• bloating after meals
• migraine headaches
• poor sleep
• hip and lower back pain
• a bitter taste in the mouth
• feeling stuck and unable to move forward
• hip and lower back pain
• skin inflammation flaring
By stimulating the Gallbladder energy channel, we’re helping the Qi flow more freely through the system, like restarting software that’s glitching.
This channel travels almost the entire side of the body. I’m tapping where it’s easy to reach with both hands, but the channel actually begins near the outer corner of the eye, zigzags through the side of the scalp, behind the ear, down the side of the neck and shoulder, along the ribs and waist, through the glutes and hips, down the outer thigh, along the IT band, continues down the outside of the leg, and ends near the fourth and fifth toes.
👉 I like to tap for 2-3 minutes or until my arms get tired.
As we head into humid summer, it’s the perfect time to learn about your Gallbladder channel. Last week we learned about stimulating your Spleen energy channel, which helps prevent dampness from accumulating in the body. When dampness builds and combines with heat we can use the Gallbladder channel to help clear this imbalance we call: Damp-Heat.
Signs can include heaviness, sluggish digestion, irritability, headaches, skin eruptions, eczema with a wet quality, and that classic bitter taste in the mouth.
💡 PS if you’ve had your gallbladder removed, don’t worry. You still have your Gallbladder channel!
