Last month, the FDA’s Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee (PCAC) met to consider seven peptide-related bulk drug substances for potential inclusion on the 503A Bulks List.

Following two days of discussion, the committee recommended six for inclusion: BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, MOTS-c, Epitalon and Semax.

They are not final FDA determinations, and they do not mean these peptides are now FDA-approved or automatically available for compounding.

We’ll continue to share updates as additional guidance becomes available.

🧠 July 22 is World Brain Day, a reminder that neurological health plays a vital role in overall wellness, cognitive performance, and healthy aging.

One area of growing interest is NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), a coenzyme found in every cell of the body that supports energy production, cellular repair, and mitochondrial function. As NAD+ levels naturally decline with age, researchers continue to explore its potential role in supporting cognitive function, mental clarity, and overall brain health.

For providers, NAD+ therapy may be worth considering as part of a comprehensive approach to patient wellness, particularly for individuals interested in optimizing cognitive performance, healthy aging, and cellular health.

This World Brain Day, let's continue the conversation around innovative therapies that support long-term neurological well-being. Contact us today to get started.

We're investing in education to better support the providers we serve. 🎓

We're proud to share that our Lead Pharmacist, Gopesh Patel, recently completed the Peptide Therapy Certification Program through The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

This advanced educational program explores the science of peptide therapies, including mechanisms of action, clinical applications, patient selection considerations, safety protocols, and emerging research within the rapidly evolving field of peptide medicine.

At VLS Pharmacy & New Drug Loft, our commitment to education reflects our broader commitment to supporting providers with expertise, innovation, and personalized service.

The peptide landscape continues to evolve, and providers should be paying attention. 💉

The FDA has indicated that several peptides may be discussed during its July 2026 advisory committee meeting for potential inclusion on the 503A Bulks List, including:

• BPC-157
• KPV acetate
• TB-500 acetate
• MOTs-C
• Emideltide acetate
• Semax acetate
• Epitalon acetate

Until this review process is complete, the compounding status of these peptides remains uncertain. Importantly, even if a peptide is added to the 503A Bulks List, this does not constitute FDA approval. Rather, it would establish eligibility for compounding under applicable regulations.

As regulatory guidance continues to develop, VLS Pharmacy & New Drug Loft remains committed to helping providers navigate these changes. Our team closely monitors FDA developments and is available to discuss current peptide compounding considerations, regulatory updates, and available options for your practice.

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) continues to generate discussion as providers explore individualized approaches for patients with complex or chronic needs.

When dosing requirements, formulation preferences, or adherence considerations call for a more tailored approach, compounding can help bridge the gap between clinical intent and patient experience.

With technologies like CurifyLabs, customized formulations can be prepared in a range of alternative dosage forms, including oral films, troches, gummies, and other patient-specific options designed to support prescribing preferences and individualized care plans.

At New Drug Loft, we’re committed to helping providers think beyond one-size-fits-all solutions.

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) Awareness continues to highlight connection, education, and advancing the conversation around Low Dose Naltrexone through shared clinical insights and collaborative learning. 🌿

Hosted by the LDN Research Trust, it includes virtual educational sessions, a book launch, and an in-person LDN Experts Round Table Discussion in Dallas, bringing together medical professionals interested in ongoing dialogue around LDN therapy.

At VLS Pharmacy & New Drug Loft, we’re proud to support efforts that foster awareness, education, and thoughtful clinical conversation. While we won’t be attending this year’s events, we’re grateful for organizations helping to share knowledge across specialties.

If LDN is an area of interest in your clinical practice, this is a meaningful opportunity to learn, connect, and engage with the broader provider community.

Minoxidil has long been part of the hair restoration conversation, but treatment expectations and patient preferences continue to shift.

From topical formulations to growing interest in low-dose oral approaches, providers are increasingly navigating conversations around customization, tolerability, and long-term adherence.

With technologies like CurifyLabs, customized formulations can be prepared with greater flexibility across dosage forms, helping providers align treatment plans more closely with individual patient needs and preferences.

At New Drug Loft, we believe that personalized care should extend beyond standard options. 💚

Clinical conversations around hormonal acne are evolving, with more patients arriving informed by social media trends, peer recommendations, and viral treatment discussions.

For providers, spironolactone remains an important tool in hormonal acne management, but thoughtful prescribing goes far beyond online buzz. Patient selection, dosing considerations, monitoring, contraindications, and adherence conversations all play a role in building an individualized treatment plan.

In our latest blog post, we explore the clinical considerations behind spironolactone use for hormonal acne and why personalized care continues to matter in an increasingly templated treatment landscape.
