LONG POST 💥
First off, lost a new friend last week.
and I met at the a couple months back. He was working the show, and making sure every artist had everything they needed. Trash in the booth? Heck we didn’t have time to accumulate trash in the booth! Hal was right there.
His energy. Lit up the whole room. You could tell within minutes of meeting him, that he was so supportive of his friends, and even the tattoo community..and he wasn’t an artist. He just supported his homies following their dreams. And he loved tattoos. And had soooo many plans on getting more.
When we first really talked it was at the hotel we were staying at. There’s always a bunch of tatters who gather around after the show and grab some food, maybe some drinks.. and then there’s the select few that might go for a safety meeting outside and smoke something a bit more on the green side.. haha
Well, I, personally have always been more of a smoker. Not saying it’s my best trait. But, I’ve advocated for the medicinal purposes of THC for over half my life.
Me and Hal really hit it off on the conversation about self medicating and our common views on a lot of things..mental health included.
Well. Long story short.. we talked about the expo coming up. He even went as far as to volunteer to help with the expo because he felt the cause and meaning behind why we are putting it on, really resonated with him.
These were the talks we’ve had the past few months.. about how and what he could do to help..
He honestly was so excited to be a part of this in any way shape or form. It made ME just as excited to have somebody who id just met, drive over 10 hours to VOLUNTEER to help us put on a show that’s geared towards helping people.
Last Monday was our last conversation. He saw my newborn got hospitalized from RSV
And he consistently made his presence known. And gave words of encouragement. While also sharing some of the struggles he was facing in life..
Man. I needed that conversation. I felt that he needed that conversation.
I didn’t know it would be our last … (continued to 1st comment)
